It is a shame what goes on in this world that is cruel in the name of religion.

You are so right. Many who do know better are sometimes put through terrible persecution before they are able to help but they keep going, I am thankful for that.

I am amazed at the way people give of themselves for others.

I think you are right. I watched it too. It is incredible how so much of the world is embrassing Christianity and US is trying to get rid of it. Go figure. Thanks for the comment and the read. The man Sunday just made me know the Power He is using around the world. Be blessed.

That was an excellent post J,
Very interesting and heart wrenching at the same time.  I just watched the 700 club during my lunch break and they were talking about Guatemala and how 660 million had turned from other religions to Charismatic and Protestant because they wanted the relationship of the Holy Spirit and the country is moving into Christianity at an amazing rate; they have Christian restaurants and worship in all areas because congregations are rising faster than churches can spring up.  They even quoted new Christian churches rising at the rate of several per day.  I probably got a majority of these terms incorrect, lol, but you get the jest.  It feels so exciting hearing things like this and reading what you just shared.  Thank you!

Amazingly true story
and unfortunately not uncommon.  People do desperate things as they don't know better.  Fortunately, there isa whole bunch of people out there who do know better and are doing wonderful things.

Trócaire (Irish for 'mercy') is doing a lenten campaign with an very hard

hitting TV advert.  It opens to a white background with dozens of babies of all races gurgling away happy.

The narrative starts off innocently, then informs you that all these babies will suffer either from hunger, abuse, neglect, and some will be killed, all because of the one thing they have in common, their gender - female.

This Billy Graham, irrespective of religion is doing great work.  Also there's been an initiative in parts of Asia to leave public cots/cribs in hatches in clinics, hospitals and some public places so baby girls can be dropped off anonymously.

What bugs me, is though I am very well informed on all of this, I am not doing anything to make it better.  I hope to some day but worry if that's good enough or even justifiable while babies die.  Sometimes we make it about our discomfort and lack of resources or that we are committed to other things, when really that's not good enough.  Balls to this, I'm going to make a donation or something.

Taps
If I remember correctly Jude was a man of few words and in those few he encouraged us to stand up for the faith. I am not tall but I am standing. Be blessed.
