I Do Love The Extension
Actually , extending is not a bad thing. Some say there is a lesser chance of being audited if one goes on extension. It is beleived that returns to be selected for aduit are already chosen before the final deadline. I don't buy this argument as I fell that a problem return is a problem return and will be selected by red flags. I do not believe that there is such a thing as random audits.
If one keeps track of his or her financial situtation during the year, there should be no rush to get a refund as take home pay would have been increased over the year. The extension could then be done to take filing pressure away from April 16th.

Oh I forget. my accountant came out of hiding
thismorning with the good news that I just might get a teensy weensy little refund this year!!!!!
Here we do our tax after the end of June each year so we are getting a bit late but I always have an extension so that a tax idiot like me can get it together real slow and steady.
