One thing is clear: Iran must not be permitted the bomb. It is to be hoped that either Ahmadinejad will see reason on his own, or that his opposition (which does exist) will make him see it. If none of that happens, either the US or Israel, and possibly both, will strike. I would imagine that the Pentagon's plans for that are pretty well in place, or they'd better be.

This wil not involve nuclear weapons, nor will it involve ground forces, although the States must be prepared for a Iranian incursion into Iraq.

And the Saudis would be happy, although they can't say so publicly, of course.

Corbin, the Iraq war isn't leading us anywhere. It is a strategy to eliminate Islamic terrorism. Fears of a wider war would be well-founded in doing nothing.

If during a war, we are attacked by a neutral nation, then that nation has involved itself in the war and should be held accountable. Iran didn't even cover it's tracks because it is arrogant. We are not about to turn this war over to the next administration, whether Democratic or Republican, with a "neutral" nation just waiting to wade in as we pull out.

Bush is a man of honor and he will do the honorable thing. Iran gets it for, among other things, attacking American soldiers in Iraq, attacking American interests in the world, and the 70's hostage crisis.

Corbin...are you sure about some of these things?
Such as the stock piling of oil resources? This is disturbing news...I've felt that the Iraq war would lead us into a very bloody world war soon....i continue to harbor these fears for the future of mankind.

Your comments are as amusing as always..... The Saudis and Sunni majority in the Arab world would not really object to the actions......it would relieve the pressure they are feeling.

Since Iran is the leading supplier for the Iraqi insurgents....it could also releave the pressure there....and quite possibly take out  President Abracadabra.......

Sarooster,
"Nuke em", yada, yada, yada, ...! You have no clue what a nuclear bomb can do! So lose the plan! America don't "got it like that"!

Corbin,
The left has stymied our fighting effort in the region. These people are all linked in some way. Iran has supplied technology, expertise, and other things that have harmed our military in Iraq. We can sit by and let it happen or we can do something about it. I don't think Iran can do much about it. I would think a few targeted strikes to get Iran's attention would be be a good way to begin. We could sit back and see how they react. If they want to fight we need to give it to them good. No ground troops until much later in that effort. Use missiles and bombs, big ones, to subdue them. They will only agitate the entire region until we do something else about it. Eveyone else will just talk until Iran is able to really wreak havoc in the area. I say talk a very short time with them. If they won't do right; nuke 'em!!

Corbin_Dallas,

Will this "air strike" coincide with the one on North Korea? You people do not get it yet! The only reason we have Colonels in the military is to replace Generals!

Bush Inc. is trying to hold on to its failed doctrine until it can escape and blame the next guy! All of its bumbling incompetence and criminal activity will have to be payed for! Stock piling oil? Thank goodness for Blogit! Where else could you find a home for this? Why?
