that's really scary. I had a similar experience at a mall movie theater

bathroom... it was the late show and I ran to use the bathroom before we left.  Someone came in and turned out the lights and I swear I thought I was going to get my ass kicked.

Something like that doesn't leave your mind easily.

I just got caught up on your blog!

I've been so tied up with the weather here in Chicagoland and other problems that I missed your description of the original incident.

Yes, you have every right to be scared out of your wits. But you did the right thing. Your employer is telling your colleagues to be careful, and you filed a statement with the police (even though the police cannot do anything). The construction company knows what its employee did, and perhaps the construction worker will be put on warning or otherwise disciplined for what he did to you. The guy deserved it.

I'm sorry for what happened Jemmie!  That kind of thing can shake a person to her very foundation.  No surprise you are having bad dreams.  I am thankful that people are being supportive of you.  That will help heal this mess.  Guys can be real jerks sometimes. They have no idea how scary something like that can be.  Get well Jemmie!

Thanks.  I may actually ask to leave early today.  I really don't want to have to face seeing the construction guys in my building again.  Not this soon!  And I do keep repeating to myself that I am VERY lucky nothing more happened . . . and that I could help others to be more aware in order to protect themselves.

It's awful and that was one hell of a scare you head
but keep repeating to yourself, "thank goodness I'm unharmed". See if you can arrange to take some days of from work. A big, big hug to you
