I remember them also
And they were not as prevalent as they are today. And even the dumb shows like Gilligan were better than virtually all today's "sitcoms." I know of not one sitcom today that is actually funny.

Archie- I would like to agree with the great dumbing of network America but
I remember all the variety shows that were prevalent thru-out the 50's and 60's, into the 70's. And then of course their was Gilligan's Island...
