Jemmie--
I eventually began wondering the same thing about myself...and that is why I am no longer with him, lol.

It isn't? How come my own stupidity is painful? LOL Maybe it's because I can actually recognize when I do or say stupid things.

You see......
That's what happens when we pass all these laws and regulations to protect us from ourselves and our surroundings....The Law of Natural Selection is disrupted and humanity's gene pool gets diluted down with the stupidity that originally disappeared as a result of its own actions......

It's like it's going to kill these people to open a dictionary and look up a word, or take a class, or something - they just have to ask the dumb questions that everyone else knew the answer to at their age. Give me a break.
I didn't learn what I know about kidney disease that way. I took classes. I bought medical dictionaries. I talked to people "in the know." Granted, nobody expects you to know it all about something that complex at only 17, but the information is out there and you don't have to sound like a total idiot to get it. There are more appropriate ways of getting information than asking about stuff you should already know about.

Well, the thing is, I'm not so sure it will be over soon! Yeah, she's a temp, but I (yes, me, in all my own personal stupidity) was fooled in the beginning by her eagerness, and told my manager that she was really great and that we should ask for her every time we needed a temp!

LOL I totally know what you mean!
One evening, years ago, my best friend was on the phone with her boyfriend at the time. She was telling him about a poem she had to write for class. "It's supposed to be contemporary."
After a brief silence, she began explaining what "contemporary" meant. I just had to roll my eyes and wonder--not for the first time--why she was with him when she was about a billion times smarter than him.

I totally agree with you.
I can't abide stupid people. My parents tell me that I have an
elitist attitude. But seriously...one of my ex-boyfriends would
ask me what "big" words meant...words like "cyncial." Drove me
crazy...I thought everyone knew that.

Oh my goodness! But that does remind me of a DJ here who was
talking about a book called "The One-hour orgasm." Her male
counterpart asked if she had enough time for that, and she replied,
"Why? How long does it take?"

Jemmie--
I have to wonder, is it their fault that they are uneducated? Perhaps there are circumstances that prevented them from learning things we generally consider common. And do they seem to "learn" now, from you? Maybe you should look at it as an opportunity to help them become more educated...it is never too late!
