I have comment anxiety again....
I always.. always read before I comment. Sometimes I read throught the previous comments because I dont want to sound redundant. Sometimes I am short on time and just leave an icon.. so they know I read them. I cant understand why anyone would just go about commenting with out reading?

or just say in answer "no comment"..

But some are just out to lure people to their posts. I think it is pretty obvious.

Several times.....
I have thought about asking a question about something that wasn't even in the post to see if that person would answer it..... and then be aware they'd been had.........

I was reading your mind, indeed! In fact, it's been something
that's been bothering me for a long time, but until today I just wasn't
quite annoyed enough to make a fuss about it.

person does it just so we'll click on over to his/her blog.

Yeah...actually I do have a blog about it! LOL It's my
Daddy blog. My Daddy and Diva's hunny--same man. LOL So
it's not quite as scandalous as it sounded!

I tried, really I did, to give this person the benefit of the doubt,
but after seeing two very unusual comments on other people's blogs
(i.e. "nice poem" when there wasn't a poem and something along the
lines of "you're lucky to have such a great mother" when the person was
actually complaining about her mother) I just had to come to the
conclusion that this person just does not read the posts. And
that bothers me in a big way!

Great post!
Whoops, that's been done to death already...LMAO. You want to hear something *really* funny--today I seriously contemplated writing a post about this very same thing, but I'm on something like Day 48 of my self-mandated "No B Words posts," so I just couldn't do it! I must have telepathically sent word to you though. Thanks!! LOL.

Nice post!
Okay, but seriously, I've been thinking the very same thing. Am I even being read? I don't believe I'm being read thoroughly, because I've noticed the time that a quickie comment like that is left on my post then see a quickie comment like that on another post only 2 minutes apart. Know what I mean?

I suppose we can't be entirely certain the post has not been read and
with cultural differences maybe this is the easiest way for this person
to simply acknowledge they dropped stopped by. That's my
optimism peaking through. On the other hand, maybe the time isn't
taken to actually read what has been written and that's a shame.

In a way that's akin to crying wolf. After a time or two of receiving that from the same person, I just consider the source, ignore and move on.

I have left a flower or a heart on people's blogs too, but they always know that it means that my heart is with them. DivineDiva and I do this a lot since we are both missing the same man.

I will admit I am known sometimes to simply leave a flower icon
or something of the sort. Some get to me to the point, I can't say much or I feel anything I say is inadequate. I read certain poetry but I am by no means an expert, I suspect they get tired of me telling them that it's nice or whatever. I know what I like in poetry but please don't ask me to discuss it unless it's Poe.

LOL!
I do that sometimes, but sometimes it's because I don't know what to say beside "interesting" or "nice poem" I think I have fallen into that rut because I see other people doing it, but I had no idea that people do it without reading the blog...hahaha...that's why I only read blogs that I enjoy...but now you have me paranoid....going to come up with more original thoughts next time, glad I read this. LOL!

Seriously, I never comment unless I have something worthy to say. Nor do I automatically click on everyone who supposedly clicked my blog and I don't expect everyone I leave comments for to race back to my blog. Such "back-scratching" is a part of networking here, but it's not the sole means of advertising.
