I haven't heard back from the main office yet, Pearl...
But the local branch bent over backward to keep my business. I'll post the final results here.

Hi, arGee,
I can't wait to hear how this turns out. I had a similar incident with a local branch of my "hometown" bank, last year. The manager was quite rude and not helpful at all, and by no means should he have been in a position of customer service. Of course, my deposit was significantly less, but the feeling is still the same. They made me feel horrible. I later got a brief apology email from the bank, from what I assumed what the main office. Shame on me, I didn't close the account, because I had my mortgage there at the time. Now I just keep it open with a few dollars in it, only because I've banked with them for the past 11 years. Good luck getting satisfaction.

Thanks, Tony...
Everyone I tell the story to is incredulous. One person commented, maybe 80 grand is just pocket change in Hollywood. Go figure!
