NEVER take him and his friends to a buffet...it will truly be the most horrifying experience of your life when the staff asks you to leave. There is one near the armory and they finally had to call and ask that they don't allow the guys to go eat lunch there LOL!

I do generally cook BUT for a bunch of single Marines...while they may be adorable NOBODY but the mess hall can keep that much food in the freezer!

Oh, strip twister maybe? I can't think of anything else. ;) I know what you mean, I'm the same way... that's why we live way away from Eddie's base. If we lived near Camp Pendleton we'd never escape all the single Marines who are bored, who don't have cable, who think I cook all the time because I'm a wife (they have not seen the updated manual, poor dears!). I want one of those things I used to have in my old office... It had a piece of paper with a bunch of faces describing your current mood... angry, happy, horny, silly, etc. You could slide this thing around and select one. Put something similar like that (I wonder which one you'd pick... I have no idea...) on the front door, and there ya go! ;) I hope you, um, had a great game.

I appreciate that she is somewhat lonely but she overstays her welcome everytime. I feel bad for her and I don't mind the occasional visit if she would just call in advance.
Like you, my mother had every neighbor in the neighborhood at our home and then there would be a falling out and suddenly we children weren't allowed to play together either. I hated it. Given I work at home and people do not comprehend DEADLINE, I try not to be overly friendly but.... I still end up with people at my door. The hazards of a small town I suppose.

I'm trying to think what I would have done. I really am not feeling that I would have handled it any better, except since I don't smoke, I guess that I would have been more verbally blunt. I've always had an aversion to being too social with my proximal neighbors because my mother so overdid it and it seemed like we never had our living room or dining room to ourselves. Also, it seems that once you get too "neighborly" there is always a possibility of an ugly falling out. LOL
