Joe Love, it's all a matter of taste, really--
I start with a gallon of cider, usually, and about 5-6 inches of cinnamon sticks, and a good shake of nutmeg, a gentler shake of cloves, and allspice if I have it.  Ginger is good, too, if you like-- you can use any combination of spices you like!  I think the citrus-- orange and lemon, 2-3 slices each--are a nice tangy touch that keeps it from being too sweet.

Thank you...I will print this out..I think I am going to try it with orange..I bet that is really good!

It probably makes the house smell wonderful too~
