Thanks for sharing
your chicken tale. I know that chickens can be very aggressive. We had a large cockerel on the farm when growing up and he definitely ruled the roost. Even the dogs were afraid of him

Now we know what it meant.....
when people talk about madder than a wet hen...only this one obviously had a nest up there somewhere......but you want a battle?  Mess with a mama goose!  They can really bite!

Justi. . . why stop at chickens???
I can't stand ANY bird.  Okay, maybe hummingbirds are cool.  Other than that, they are all pretty nasty.  *grin*

Cute story of the chicken attacking you and your dog.  Nasty things.  Glad they taste so good!  lol

I am sorry about your sister-in-law. Oh they can be lethal. You brought back such neat memories. They were interesting animals, at least all except the game ones. Thanks for sharing this.

Me too. I wish I could hear his really deep full laughter again. He loved his little girl but he often laughed at what I thought was the wrong time. LOL

Thanks for the comment. Yes it is funny now. It was a horror then.

My sister-in-law lost an eye when she was spurred by a Bantam rooster
as she ran and played in the henyard. She was four at the time. I learned to "talk" chicken, and could duplicate their various sounds, the happy announcement that an egg had been laid, the sawing purr or singing in the yard, the quick quick quick summons to the chicks when there was food or danger. Came in handy a time or two.

Wonderfully funny story, Justi.  I can just picture your Daddy laughing.

What great memories to share, Justi. That was hilarious!

(although I know at the time it surely wasn't, you poor thing.)
