I'm just getting caught up on my reading and see some fresh bickering

here and there on various postings...I'm tempted to say "frankly, bloggers, I don't give a...."..but what good would it do?

I had the chicken pox as a child and it was no fun...

Better these viruses are killed, Justi.  I remember getting the chicken pox vaccination, but had no idea it could lead to shingles.  My friend just had a nasty case, it's a bad thing.

Justi, you are such a good soul.  I admire your determination to silence these trouble makers.  Poor bel is ready to throw in the towel - have you read her blogs?  We used to just have good clean fun on here.  What's the matter with all these people causing grief for us?  Take care, Dear.  God bless.

I would rather be happy than right any day. I don't understand why people

are so hell bent on being right. It's not so great. It usually leaves the other party sore and licking wounds. If that is what a person wants for company, they don't want me around. I don't like to be sore. I don't like to make other people say uncle. I like respectful and humane interaction. I know, I'm a weirdo. LOL

My grandma has had a painful run in with shingles recently. You poor dear. I hate to think it could come back, but I think (although I'm fully willing to admit I don't KNOW, and that I may be WRONG lol) it is caused by stress...the flare ups I mean. Be well and try to heal. Much love.

OFFBEATS
Yes we all do at times. Some are enjoying it. Some are frightened and respond with it and others retaliate to keep space and face. But life is better without it. But all of us are guilty at some time I think. Be blessed.

Yes I think it may be driven for many reasons; some people thrive on anger and passionate disagreement. Not me. If I prove something to myself I am satisfied about it.

I am sure you are right. A pox on me has been standard fare for many a year. LOL

I was just going off them when I came on here. I had them on the right side of the face, ear and neck. I kid you not my ear looked like pork skins. I don't think everybody gets them for sure. I got mine on the trigeminal nerve and the Dr said that was the worst place for the pain. I don't know that but they were terrible and left strange pain on that side occasionally; he called it some sort of neuralgia. I am not good with medical words don't know if I spelled them correctly.

I remember that long line and big sore..The kids had chicken pocks but I have never experienced shingles..I am sorry about the stupid stuff people say..( sometimes I say really dumb stuff too)...

Justi, I had the chickenpox as a child, so did my children.  In theory we are prime candidates for shingles since that virus is lurking somewhere in my body.  I have seen and treated lots of shingles in my patients and I hope very much not to ever see or feel them on myself.  I'm sorry that you have been through that.

I've never quite understood what drives extreme behavior (and quite frankly I shy away from it).  Even within my relationship I tend to operate from a place of keeping peace and I like the Dr. Philism - "Do you want to be right or do you want to be happy?"  I'll pick happy any day.  I appreciate that people can become very passionate about a subject but have never been able to wrap my head around the thinking - "I'm going to debate this to death, or surely I can make this other person see it my way".  We're all so unique that in some instances that's never going to happen.

Justi......
A very interesting melding of subject matter.........Careful, some might even respond with....."A pox upon you!"

The first part I have heard both ways. I had Chicken Pox and got Shingles too. I think for the other part you have a valid point. Either is an extreme and extremes are prone to adult extreme behavior unless some good lessons have been learned however they may have been. Do you think so?

It's my understanding it's the opposite - if you've never had chicken pox you are at risk of contracting shingles as an adult and you could/would catch it from some child with the pox.

In keeping with your overview of people, maybe those who never had the pox as a child, who were unscathed from such an uncomfortable condition, and who got everything they wanted are the ones who shout the loudest.  And it's those that have endured some trials and tribulations who know when it's time to back down graciously.    Waddaya think?
