I have, Corbin ...

I thought it was above average ... a little long, though ... Daniel Craig makes a decent, if somewhat more stoic, James Bond ... of course, he's no George Lazenby.

Who's doing what, now, A + B?

Are you saying you couldn't use the jokes?

posted by Mademoiselle on December 5, 2006 at 7:02 AM | link to this | reply

Have you seen Casino Royale yet?

posted by Corbin_Dallas on December 5, 2006 at 5:24 AM | link to this | reply

Many thanks for your efforts. Although we never foretold any benefits for the jokes, we have clicked here 20 separate entries.

One time, I had a nightmare in which the late Gene Siskel was replaced (on his tv show) by a wisecracking android.

It was really scary.

HAHAHA, Mad.  Chipmunks are too, too, .... can't think of what to say.  LOL maybe I'd better pick the robot after all.  I always liked R2D2.

I always hated Alvin, TAPS ...

Simon, too.

Theodore, I was ambivalent about.

posted by Mademoiselle on December 4, 2006 at 11:20 PM | link to this | reply

mademoiselle, Of the two, I'll take the chipmunk.  Alvin would have been cute saying, "Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, goodwill toward men."

posted by TAPS. on December 4, 2006 at 11:16 PM | link to this | reply

However, they still could have (slightly) tweaked the story a bit, TAPS ...

Say, by adding a talking chipmunk, or even a sassy robot.

Something minor like that.

Mademoiselle, Good quote from Keillor. I always felt the same way about having to remind my husband that it was our anniversary. I'm rather glad that there were no surprises in The Nativity Story. I like the same ol' same ol' this time of year.

Essentially, Whacky ... although I actually saw "A Prairie Home Companion" a while ago.

posted by Mademoiselle on December 4, 2006 at 10:21 PM | link to this | reply

Matthew Perry?

The guy who played Chandler on "Friends" is a photographer, too, YPunday?

posted by Mademoiselle on December 4, 2006 at 10:20 PM | link to this | reply

Sounds like you liked at least one out of three.

Thanks for the heads up on the other two. It'll save me time and money!

posted by Whacky on December 4, 2006 at 7:22 PM | link to this | reply

Thanks--sorry your movies were not more fun (heard similar review 'Nativity

Story")...thanks for reading and commenting. Here's....Matthew Perry's fresh visions

too Freudian, and the weird thing is that just after i wrote that, his best
friend called, about a housing loan, he's a realtor we're looking into getting a house.  I love synchronistic weird coincidences

Correction (typo):

Left out a comma.

You must be contagious, Troosha.

posted by Mademoiselle on December 4, 2006 at 2:47 PM | link to this | reply

Yeah, Troosha, and I suspect even people, such as myself, who were not particularly familiar with Garrison Keillor will adore it.

posted by Mademoiselle on December 4, 2006 at 2:46 PM | link to this | reply

typo - "Absolutely"

posted by Troosha on December 4, 2006 at 2:37 PM | link to this | reply

I absoluted LOVED Prairie Home Companion
Wasn't it marvelolus?  For those of you who haven't rented it - give it a try.  It's tender, it's history, it's human, and it's quirky.

posted by Troosha on December 4, 2006 at 2:36 PM | link to this | reply

Unfortunately not, A + B ... now that I spend so much time with my cousins.
I loved "Monster House", though.

posted by Mademoiselle on December 4, 2006 at 2:14 PM | link to this | reply

That really was quite Freudian, Blanche.

posted by Mademoiselle on December 4, 2006 at 2:13 PM | link to this | reply

Are you spared the cartoons this season? We went through Flushed Away, Happy Feet, Open Season.

posted by A-and-B on December 4, 2006 at 2:03 PM | link to this | reply

Woops, I did it again, I mixed up Mark Wahlberg with Jan Wahlstrom, my
now ex-neighbor.  Freudian very Freudian, jan was hot. 31, too young for me, but rowwwwr.

posted by Blanche. on December 4, 2006 at 2:03 PM | link to this | reply

Well, maybe technically, A + B.

posted by Mademoiselle on December 4, 2006 at 1:58 PM | link to this | reply

Yeah, I did, Blanche ...
I first realized Mark Wahlberg was more than just a (semi-)pretty face in "Boogie Nights".

posted by Mademoiselle on December 4, 2006 at 1:57 PM | link to this | reply

Sorry, thought your age qualifies you to be one...

IMO, it was the best movie I saw this year, Strat.
Despite the varied topics, Altman's movies always had a certain special something.

posted by Mademoiselle on December 4, 2006 at 1:56 PM | link to this | reply

nah, the goatee does nothing for me, but to each their own.
I just think he's more complex now, maybe always was, but more interesting. Did you see The Departed?  That was a fantastic movie, Mark Wahlstrom blew me away, I haven't seen him since he was Marky Mark with the droopy pants.

posted by Blanche. on December 4, 2006 at 1:55 PM | link to this | reply

Well, A + B, I can't really speak for adults.

posted by Mademoiselle on December 4, 2006 at 1:55 PM | link to this | reply

Prairie Home Companion was a GREAT movie.
I didn't realize Altman had directed it, but it makes sense.

posted by strat on December 4, 2006 at 1:51 PM | link to this | reply

What's mediocre for the adults might satisfy the kids. We might watch The Nativity too.

posted by A-and-B on December 4, 2006 at 1:50 PM | link to this | reply

I think it's the goatee, Blanche.
I don't think "Blood Diamond" opens until next week here, though.

posted by Mademoiselle on December 4, 2006 at 1:30 PM | link to this | reply

You're welcome, Fiona ...
Although, I wouldn't say people should necessarily avoid The Nativity Story ... just maybe wait to watch it on cable.

posted by Mademoiselle on December 4, 2006 at 1:29 PM | link to this | reply

Wait, I think I've heard of it, it probably opened here in the last week or
so.  Leonardo is finally getting old enough to be interesting to me.

posted by Blanche. on December 4, 2006 at 1:23 PM | link to this | reply

Hi
Thanks - good to know what movies to avoid.

posted by fionajean on December 4, 2006 at 1:22 PM | link to this | reply

I hear "Blood Diamond" is good, Blanche.
Plus, Leonardo DiCaprio looks really hot.

posted by Mademoiselle on December 4, 2006 at 1:21 PM | link to this | reply

thanks for the reviews, Mademoiselle, I think I'll pass on both.
There are too many other good movies opening now to waste the time.

posted by Blanche. on December 4, 2006 at 1:16 PM | link to this | reply

Another good Garrison Keillor line (from "A Prairie Home Companion"):
"I'm of an age when if I started to do eulogies, I'd be doing nothing else."

posted by Mademoiselle on December 4, 2006 at 12:59 PM | link to this | reply

The movie has a lot of them, actually, SuccessWarrior ...
In fact, hold on a sec ...

posted by Mademoiselle on December 4, 2006 at 12:56 PM | link to this | reply

That's a good line
