A third-world factory that paid $2 a day would be a huge step forward. However, I don't know where you'd find one...

Blanche and NAUTIKOS, Just got home. Thanks to you both for everything!
We are fine here at the kingmi household.  Never been closer in our lives, in spite of some personal setbacks and deteriorating health conditions.

xeno-x, thank you for your comments. I think however, since the data is
so debatable that focusing our efforst on strengthening the world economy, bringing nations together in peace and understanding is heliping all the children of the world.  All the children of Asia and Africa, India and Polynesia...those are my children, as I am Asian, African, Indian and Polynesian.  My children are hungry today and need to find food.

xeno-x, as for your first rebuttal.  My Uncle Harold had his fingers and hands broken with billy clubs rather that be removed from striking in front o USSteel.  However, even he saw by the end of his life how the unions were taking advantage of their position.  Also, the jobs that now are done overseas give locals in Asia and elsewhere a job.  Two dollars a day in their country is equal to multiples of that over here.

Exporting jobs to the third world brings the third world nto the modern world.

next points

7. Liberals believe that the USA is the chief global terrorist for not adopting the Kyodo Accords. The truth is that if those unfairly written, trapdoor, protocols were adopted, the USA would cease to exist as a nation. They know it, but it doesn't matter. It's in the kool-aid;

Clinton did not sign on to the Kyoto Accords -- We and China, I believe, are the only countries not to sign -- hey we are in great company.

8. Liberals honestly believe that "Global Warming" is caused by pollution, even though the globe has been fluctuating a degree or two one way or another for millennia. Witness the Great Lakes, courtesy of a touch of Global Warming several dozen thousand years ago;

liberals?   -- it's scientists that are warning us of global warming -- sorry, but science is neither liberal nor conservative --

let's see -- less snow on the mountains and less runoff to provide water for Colorado, Arizona, California from the Colorado River.

ice cores that tell us that this is indeed an aberration -- that naturally this has not happened in the past.

constant melting of the Greenland Icepack --

thinner ice in Hudson's Bay, thus fewer days for the ice pack, thus stressing the polar bears there

a terrible 2005 hurricane season, a predicted result of global warming.

we decide that it's not true when in fact it is, then we decide not to do anything about it, then this continues and the later it is taken care of, the more difficult it becomes to reverse the process (some say it's irreversible now, as it is).

thanks for not taking care of your children.  they will thank you for the miserable world they have inherited from you to their dying day (which might be sooner due to this).

if you keep this post as the last i can answer your points

lets go with

1. Liberals still think the unions are doing good things for people who do not have homes and whose children are slaving away in sweatshops and factories for pennies a week;

lets talk about unions -- unions and democrats (liberals) fought for such things as higher wages, workplace safety, pensions, etc.

when unions started demonstrating against the atrocities committed by their employers, the local authorities sided with the employers and sent in law enforcement to beat their heads and kill a few in the process.

unions and liberals did indeed thwart the sweatshops here in the U.S.

but lets look at the problem seriously rather than so glibly and cavalierly as you are putting it.

sweatshops have returned.  garment factories that barely supported rural and small town families over here have closed down.  and they have been revived in the Pacific Rim countries.

lets see -- what have the companies gained?  -- well, how about what they don't have to pay out, such $5.50/hr wages plus benefits, social security, taxes, sick leave.  in their place are at best $2/day laborers without these benefits -- let's add this up -- approximately 8 x $5.50 is $44.00 per day minus $2 = $42.00/day in direct savings.  Add to this the sick leave, vacation, workers comp -- other expenses -- boy do the profits add up!!!!  -- no Bush tax cut responsible for those profits!

and of course this doesn't take into consideration that the jeans made sell for $30 - $200/pair -- and how many pairs do you think any one $2/day worker is responsible for?

It's like with illegal immigrants -- jobs are not being given to Americans -- Unions want jobs for Americans, I'll have to admit -- a sort of self-serving thing -- but in the process, I would hope we can see that corporate America is what it always has been, after the bottom line -- more profits in their pockets and workers wherever are just grist for their profit mill.

then they are not much different than the liberal democrats we have for friends in Iraq. They are both incivil war already...
