Corbin, the eccentric part probably applies to all of us, eh?

Maybe we're all a little wacked in the head?  All of us poor sods who have nothing better to do on a Saturday evening than blog and argue with far flung unknowns?????  (Speaking of which, I really MUST go practice my cello!)

Offbeats, I was rooting for Lieberman, and pleased that he won.
We need more Democrats and Independents like him!  I don't agree with all of his policies and yet it would seem he is certainly a moderate and more of an old school politician.

Blanche, I don't wish to pick a fight with you. Let me be up front about

that.  However, I don't understand where name calling is considered gauche in your family, yet it would seem (having read through many of your comments over the past few weeks) that you have been throwing out an awful lot of other negative, inflammatory and accusatory remarks.  So might I ask what the difference is, from your perspective, between name calling and this other rhetoric?

Regarding name calling, one person who really comes to mind as being whacko is John Kerry.  Or -- should I clarify -- many of the statements he has made have been whacko and inappropriate.  He may well be a decent and honorable man; who knows?  I don't, having never met the man.  All I have to go by are the comments he makes.

I endorse our party too. I think the Democratic party has long since gone over the edge and no longer stands for anything. A good example of the loss of the Democratic party to rise to the understanding of a 21st century global environment is Liebermann..He was the last of the Kennedy democrats and now is an Independent. Still a tad left for my taste but a man of the times..The rest of them as a political force is full of whackos...

Well, JanesO, since I just had this argument with Parnell over insenstive

or crass language, and with anod to Corbin, perhaps you both can tell me under what circumstances the word  "Whacko" is appropriate and in good taste, assuming Corbin knows. His sense of decorum and proper upbringing leave much to be desired.

I don't know where he was raised and by whom, but name-calling is considered gauche at best in my family.

Corbin, I went back and re-read where I DID use the "whacko" comment

and yes, it was completely taken out of context. I accused the Demo leaders of being whacko and the rest of the party of being too quiet.  So my apologies, Blanche, but nevertheless -- and for the record -- I am not accusing the entire Democratic party of being whacko.  OK?  OK.

Sheeeeesh.

Corbin, thanks for pointing that out.
I read through the blog about three times looking for "whacko" but did not check comments.  I'm afraid to look -- is there now a blog about this floating out there in the ether?  Gadzooks.

Janes...
you said "wacko statements" in a comment below......as always it's been taken out of context, twisted to mean something entirely different.....next you will see another chest-beating post regarding you heinous attitude......

TAPS and LeRoy, I missed your comments from earlier.
Thank you for sharing.  TAPS I'm with you on this business of prayer.  No matter what party is in power we need to be praying more.  Blessings.

And regarding your first comment, Blanche,
(let me remind you what it was) "Well, I hope one day to prove you wrong, JanesOpiinion, that is if you're open-minded to admitting that there is anything good about a Democrat, rather than just bashing us all and lumpng us all into one pot" -- Did you even read my damned post?  Did you see my final paragraph?  Did you actually READ where I flat out said I KNOW there are some really decent Democrats?  Once again you go foaming off at the mouth acting really quite unbalanced.  Please, please, please -- if you WANT to be a good spokes person for the Demo party, please be rational in the words you write.  Stop with this emotional emoting.  Stop making accusatory statements that only do YOU and your reputation a disservice.  OK?

Uhhhhh, Blanche, darlin' you accused me in a previous comment of

not getting my facts straight -- but nowhere do I see that I used the word "wacko" in this post.  Nor did I find it in the words of Michelle Malkin, whose words I quoted.  Not only that, but my parting comments were, and I quote "Granted, I KNOW there are some really decent folk in the Democratic Party. WHY they're still in that party is beyond me, but of course that is the beauty of democracy: we have the freedom to choose who we want in elected office. I will be exercising that freedom to vote for Republicans . . . ."

So please, get your facts straight, and stop being so danged passive aggressive.  If you want to fight for the democratic party, be my guest.  As I said in my final paragraph, "I KNOW there are some really decent folk in the Democratic Party."  So if you're going to fight for a decent demo reputation, you've got to PROVE to me that the party is decent and supports the troops (unlike Kerry, as discussed in this blog).  But so far I've not seen it in any of your political comments.

and thank sfor using the word "Whacko" to characterize an entire party
It's disgraceful the way you people carry on.

Well, I hope one day to prove you wrong, JanesOpiinion, that is if you're
open-minded to admitting that there is anything good about a Democrat, rather than just bashing us all and lumpng us all into one pot.  Have you met any lately, or what exactly qualifies you as such an expert on this?  I wish just once you'd treat others with the respect you are so quck to demand for yourself and your cohorts.

The results are in.  The demos were rewarded by the voters for their painting of our Soldiers as Nazi thugs... It is a dark day.

JanesOpinion, I'm reading this post a day late--after the count is in and the wins and losses are known.  Now, more than ever, it is going to be important to pray for our elected leaders and to keep our hearts strong toward God.   Complaining about what they do/did after its done doesn't do any good.  It only makes for more unrest and division.

Ahhh and sadly this MIchigander's town will be on the white side as well (although currently it's unseasonably warm . . . must be that global warming).

WritersBlok, you make a valid point; however, it is true that
the Demo leaders who make news are the ones saying all these off the wall or disloyal or whacko statements. The rest are generally very quiet . . . .

That is a serious gross generalization of a party made up of
millions of people. This is part of the reason why I don't like party affiliations - too many mud slingers on both sides!
