AbsolutelyPositive, That's a real hard one for teenagers. People seem especially vulnerable at age 16. Its too bad if it goes on through adult life because it is true, if you project that yourself, other people accept it without question.

AbsolutelyPositive, you are so right, when I started having confidence in
myself, then I got more respect, it's a cyclical process, I've noticed.
Some of us seem to bloom later, I am one myself.

I preach that message alot too....
It really bothers me to see bloggers, usually women, who have no or low self-esteem. They don't get respect from others bec they don't respect themselves. And yet, they dont' seem to understand why people treat them poorly.
