Is the moon is playing tricks!

I went out as darkness was falling and looked for the moon. It gave me quite a shock when I saw it. The big bright moon hung low in the sky and was partly obscured by clouds, so only the lower part was visible. It looked like a glowing UFO hovering over the town, but very soon it was completely... Time for a change, and the moon is right

I don't think there is much chance of seeing the moon tonight, because of the rain, but late yesterday afternoon I was walking along the seafront at dusk and saw a big bright round moon appearing and disappearing through gaps in the gathering clouds. The moon will be full here tonight, and its... Sign in to see full entry.

Have you ever received unexpected kindness from a stranger?

Yesterday I was resting on a wooden bench, near to a sign warning "Danger! Cliff Edge". I was enjoying the view, with the wind blowing directly into my face, but it was so cold my eyes began to water. A woman walking her dog stopped to ask if I was all right and I assured her I was. As she continued... Sign in to see full entry.

Can hair go grey from anxiety or stress?

I'm sure I only had 5 grey hairs a few weeks ago, maybe it was more like 9 or even 18, but I do know I could only see a few silver strands. Yesterday I looked in the mirror and saw a 'salt and pepper' effect. I now seem to have many more grey hairs among the brown ones. I admit I was wearing my... Sign in to see full entry.

How important is it to have an academic qualification?

I don't do very well in exams, so this year I took a course which involved researching and writing an art history project. I was not expecting a very high mark for it, and I did not get one. It was not a bad result, but much lower than the continuous assessment result I had from my essays. I passed... Sign in to see full entry.

A town for all seasons

Over the weekend I moved into a small rented apartment, in a coastal town, in the county of Sussex. I now have my own sitting room/diner, a small modern kitchen and bathroom, and a spacious bedroom. If I was at the front of the building I would have an 'ocean view', but my windows look out onto the... Sign in to see full entry.

My visualization came true

A few weeks ago I created a visual image in my mind of where I wanted to be this winter. I saw myself walking along a long wide esplanade, with the sea on my left side, a road and hills to the right. Yesterday morning I found myself exactly in this situation, with a fresh salty wind in my face,... Sign in to see full entry.

A dolphin named Dave

I saw my first ever wild dolphin yesterday. It was in the English Channel, and I was on the clifftop at Folkestone, watching it arch and dive close to the shore. The locals are familiar with this dolphin, which has become a local celebrity. It even has its own website, and a special award from the... Sign in to see full entry.

Is blogging the best way to express your feelings?

I have always found it easier to write down my thoughts, rather than express my feelings verbally. If I talk openly to another person, I know I will regret it later, because I am basically a very private person. Writing is a more controlled way of communicating, or revealing, private thoughts. I... Sign in to see full entry.

Was this a beautiful cosmic sign?

This afternoon I was having a final stroll, before I leave London, along the River Thames, near Greenwich. It started to rain on my side of the river, while on the other side, the buildings were still bathed in soft sunlight. Then a perfect rainbow appeared over the Thames, linking the historic...
