Well, Freemanwalking, I don't vote on strictly party lines, there are

all kinds of extenuating circumstances, and it sounds like you're still making up your mind. I'm inclined mostly to the Dems, but a good, independent Republican who didn't toe the party line, like John McCain earns my respect as well. It's all on a case by case basis.

So, interesting times, though? I'm mostly in favor of getting a Democratic majority in the House, so we can stop hemorrhaging money, in the form of graft, corruption, warmongering, and so forth, if there are any Democrats with any balls, that is.

Blanche, honestly the more I learn the more I am ready to support Bob
Corker, despite having shook Ford's hand in a bar back in the summer.  Corker truly is pissed at the RNC but due to campaign finance reform cannot contact them directly.  Additionally Ford's father has called a member of Corker's staff a "Cracker".  Ford's family has always been his biggest burden and the chain just keeps getting longer.

Freemanwalking, so that' s the race to replace Bill "may he rot" Frist?

Colorful to say the least. I hope Democrats don't get complacent and think that this race is a lock, and sure to win back the House with 16-20 seats, the RNC is famous for dirty tricks (Swiftboats for Truth, the ad that torpedeod Kerry, and strangely GW couldn't do anything about it..BS! All it would have taken was one phone call for him to stop it, if he wanted to.

The party of personal responsibility and morality...overgrown frat boys is right and NASTy ones, to boot. Old tricks like Karl Rove sending out invitations to transients to go get free booze at the DNC (that was just childish, but still).

Anyway, even if Ford isn't much better for stooping to his opponent level, I still want the Democrats to take back the House, let's start with that.

Strat - that opponent sounds a lot like Ronald Reagan. Did you get the
email (it floated all over the cubicle world) where the radio station called up this lady and told her her son was a heterosexual and she got all upset, hoping his daddy didn't find out?

Talion - I agree, the ad attacks as much with what it implies as with
what it says.  So muchracism in America panders to the elephant in the room but as long as nobody mentions it they can't have anything pinned on them.  I have a real jones against Dave Ramsey right now as well for reffering to Bob Rochelle as Boss Hogg.  Personal insults have no place in politics and a successful man like Ramsey with a national radio show should know not all his listeners share his political leanings.

Wow. Sounds pretty nasty.
Over here in SC, we just make fun of Bubba and the lottery.

Now who was the politician that exploited the masses by referring to his opponent as "A caucasion, a heterosexual, and a practicing thespian," and won in a landslide of moral indignation? It may have been Huey the Kingfish, but I can't remember now.

FreeManWalking
I saw this commercial this morning before heading to work (I live in Memphis). What disturbs me most of all about it is the implied racial slant, i.e. the squeaky-voiced bimbo that Harold Ford Jr. supposedly met at the Playboy mansion. So not only does he want to take away the guns and what not, he's also "cavorting" with white women. As much as we like to pretend skin color doesn't factor into the equation of matters of the heart (and other body parts), many people, both black and white, don't like the idea of inter-racial relationships. The RNC is silently exploiting this unpleasant reality.
