A-and-B,
What?

posted by Mademoiselle on October 23, 2006 at 7:56 AM | link to this | reply

Interestingly enough, markng, I once did a small sculpture called "Worthless Piece Of Garbage".

posted by Mademoiselle on October 23, 2006 at 7:55 AM | link to this | reply

That never actually happened, Aaron ... it's an urban legend.

Not unlike the story of the "Blair Witch".

posted by Mademoiselle on October 23, 2006 at 7:52 AM | link to this | reply

Funny you should mention that, Whacky.

Thank you, robdon. Though, quite frankly, I see myself more as ...

a combination of Georgia O'Keefe and Cy Twombley.

Only not so old.

posted by Mademoiselle on October 23, 2006 at 7:50 AM | link to this | reply

Um, Henry Miller was a writer, Azur.

I think the key, Mason, is in my choice of crayon.

Thank you, Saul.

You are too kind.

Though, I'm sure that's not true.

How about getting a palm top and keying in your entries while on the go? You can upload here whenever you blog in. : )

ironic
that I find the scribbles to be more meaningful than the other so titled works.

posted by markng on October 20, 2006 at 5:15 AM | link to this | reply

Better than most modern art
For some reason this reminds me of a story of a person who showed a 4 year-old's scribbles to some art critics.  they loved it and saw all kinds of profound things in the lines.

Impressive. Put them up for auction. You'll become rich. We'll miss
you.

That last one has something of a
Henry Miller feel about it

posted by Azur on October 19, 2006 at 2:55 PM | link to this | reply

Brava! Brava! ....the "Meaningless Scribbles," brilliant, you're really
breaking new ground here... keep at it... you'll have a show in no time!

Nope, I'm afraid nothing can speed those along.  Its going to take lots of time.

posted by TAPS. on October 19, 2006 at 1:37 PM | link to this | reply

Although, TAPS, I could probably speed the process along by dying tragically.

posted by Mademoiselle on October 19, 2006 at 1:35 PM | link to this | reply

I'm positive that in a hundred years or so each will be worth a million $$$ or more.

Actually, ShutterCat, he mostly dabbles in wood sculpture.

My mother emailed me, Factor, saying she's going to request a refund on my tuition.

posted by Mademoiselle on October 19, 2006 at 1:31 PM | link to this | reply

Um, that would be paper mache ... not "machete".

posted by Mademoiselle on October 19, 2006 at 1:30 PM | link to this | reply

Actually, fourcats, I disagree.

My true art is in creating small woodland creatures out of paper machete.

It probably is the best of this group, Bhaskar.ing.
Although, there's another one called "Looks Like Something A Two-year-old Could Do" which I also like a great deal.

Your cat can draw?
Take his fuzzy butt on the road. That way you can pay for grad school.

Ummm
and to think I hesitate in trying drawing again and posting the results...

posted by FactorFiction on October 19, 2006 at 11:11 AM | link to this | reply

yes, aftermath is my favorite as well but i really think it's the title
that's winning.  i think you should have an exhibition of your titles and your comment quotes, that's your true art, you linguist you.

mademoiselle
"In the Aftermath of the Assassination of the Archduke of Prussia in 1812":, I think was the best of all.Saw it from close quarters.

posted by Mademoiselle on October 19, 2006 at 8:14 AM | link to this | reply

Sorry, .Dave., no requests.

I'm not quite at that stage of my artistic development yet.

posted by Mademoiselle on October 19, 2006 at 8:13 AM | link to this | reply

which toe did you paint these with this time?
I mean, especially the Assassination one, it's so realistic, it sends shivers down my spine (makes me want to pee.. or it might be the cold weather.)

posted by bandanafish on October 19, 2006 at 8:12 AM | link to this | reply

I thought the Archduke's feather came out very nicely.

Certain members of the crowd were a little sketchily drawn, but then I think that is the modernist in you, trying to draw the viewer's focus towards the Arched Duck. I was thinking of travelling to London to see the Holbein exhibition, but I've no need of that now.

Do you do requests? I should rather like to see the Charge of the Light Brigade.
