Mysteria, love yourself, accept yourself, and be yourself...

Julia's got good thoughts, Smartdog, too.  Just remember you're a gifted, talented artist who puts beauty into the world, sees the good in people whom others don't necessarily see, and is a child of the universe, too.

Be a child of God, and all else falls into place...not sunshine and roses every day, not "oh, I'm cured", but every day, in little ways, it's all good, like Smart Dog says, we do things for our own reasons. Don't beat yourself up, you're beautiful.

two things:
1. be more conscious of it, and try to focus on thinking positive thoughts. You can do this in every moment when you are doing other tasks, or take time to sit and meditate on positive things.

2. whenever a negative thought drifts into your consciousness and you become aware of it, say, "I bless that thought and replace it with...(something positive related to the thought.) That works because you are sending the negative thought back without judgement and opening the door to the positive.

Mysti
Two ideas I keep in mind when struggling against self-sabotage are:

Whatever you think you are, you are always more than that...

and

Assume that whatever it is you are doing (including having negative thoughts), you are doing for some positive reason.  There is always some benefit to whatever action you take; including self sabotage.  People who can't seem to quit smoking forget that the reason they even began to smoke in the first place was, most likely, social acceptance and maybe even pride; that is, it had nothing to do with the nicotine.

I hope that helps,

-smartdog
