Hiya, Azur, I hope you get good news next week!

Hey, Babe!!!
I read your blogs because you are a good writer. You are totally capable of all the literary frills and little tin whistles, the similes and metaphors, etc., but you never seem to stoop to maudlin sentimentality or "romantic notions."  Your gut level human sense of what's going on always comes through.  I would buy any magazine you're published in, and if you were teaching in Quiet Town University, I'd sign up for your class.  This little fan letter will have to do until you're better paid...

Azur! I always enjoy your posts and interactions with you.
Adverse circumstances are no reflections on you or your ability to write. Regardless of the ups and downs of writing, you remain the same person with wonderful abilities and resilience. Stay hopeful, life has a way of working itself out. I have been in rough spots myself, and somehow, somewhere, there is always a way out. I have found for the most part that bloggers are kind to me, and I am totally oblivious of the blogit wars that seem to go on. It is only a website after all, it should not take over real life. I have blocked and unblocked for no particular reason, but I choose to ignore it. I have noticed that the most talented bloggers get picked on the most, so be flattered if it happens to you, it is a measure of your success. I think jealousy and envy drive people to do things they would not normally do. Also, some people may push the limit of decency because they can hide behind anonymity. We should treat people with the same courtesy as in real life. Unfortunately, in real life, I sometimes have short fuses, and it has leaked into my comments at time, luckily people have been kind and gracious to me.

Azur,
Well, IMO, you're certainly on the right track.

Azur

You are the greatest inspiration luv. I appreciate your being here.

I don't know whatever I will tackle once I slay Hydro One or it slays me.

I know writing isn't the be all and end all of my life. I used to love writing technical articles but I can't really do that anymore. Technology has moved way past me.

Strange though that all this fuss with Hydro One has led me to DVA, (Department of Veteran's Affairs), and I have found that they may be able to help me.

I don't know where you find the time or the patience to blog, Azur, considering what you are going through.  You amaze me.  I do like your 'Once things take off again......" remark.

Measured, fair-minded, positive. You're always a will-click writer.

One of the reasons I came back to blogit...
..was to interact with some great writers and friends I have made here..and to read and be inspired. That's it. I never know what is going on with the blogit wars..I seem to be completely oblivious..or maybe I'm just simple!

Gotta take it or leave it. No other way.

NOT to be critical...

I find the phrase "The way it's supposed to be" interesting. As Inigo Montoya told the Vizzini in Princess Bride, "I do not think it means what you think it means" (the 'you' here being generic and not about you per se,  dear hostess/blogmeisteress).

We think of it as being in accordance with (IAW) some great Plan, or at least IAW popular opinion and expectations. Sometimes it is used to indicate "o-o-o-, you're going to be in trouble!".

I beleive it is actually "Not as I supposed it would be". And NOTHING goes as planned; if this weren't so, how screwed up would we be? What would it be like if EVERYTHING went as planned? (Cold comfort when you're hungry or cutting expenses).

(Then, again, I was never one to ask the questions "Why me?", "What is the meaning of Life?", or "Why was that supposed to happen?" unless it was to someone's face and about something I have a fair idea about the answer to follow. If the ancients had decided to write "The Book Of ROJ" instead of "The Book Of JOB", the Bible would be thinner, let me tell you).

Write on!

Azur, plain old simple kindness does seem to be at a premium these days in family life, the market place, at leisure time, and yes even here.   We forget that practice makes perfect and we don't take time to practice.

Azur

Blogging about blogging is ridiculously redundant, even on the rare occasions when I do it too. It's like when Curly from the Three Stooges lay on his side and run in a circle. I couldn't care less about the great Blogit Wars and make a conscious effort to keep my name out of them. What I don't particularly care for is the way whatever contention spreads literally like a virus from post to post, blog to blog, overwhelming everything. They're weeds choking out the normal greenery and it's always over a bunch of he-said, she-said, completely insignificant gloop, a whole lot of nothing. We're people and this type of behaviour is one of the many things people do. It doesn't surprise me.

Azur,

Just this evening I was saying to my husband that we've been in a 10 year monetary slump and told him that something has to give soon.  He then asked me to imagine how people who make less than us manage on what they make.  That took me out of my tunnel-visioned little snit.  During these years, I've learnt how not to spend as if there is no tomorrow. I' m not always successful , but I'm learning as time goes by how to make do when I have to.

You've had some major challenges and by the sound of it, you have reserves of strength that take you through the tough times.

Azur, the small, internecine and Byzantine ways of this interconnected,
yet isolated pod of people who interact through words on a screen do seem petty compared to putting food onthe table, and the larger picture of a future.  I care about the kindness behind the words as well, though.
