I think your response to FW was right on. WE have to deal with what is, not what might have been, and what is probably isn't as bad as many think. The bottom line is, if the Left got the power to make us pull out of Iraq prematurely, who would take responsibility for the slaughter everyone knows will happen?

fwmystic, I apologize for my subjective use of the word GROWNUPS,
What I should have said and felt no one would understand, was that the global thinkers, those who can see beyond their own needs, know that we are in a global struggle, a world war, and the more we fight now, the less we will have to fight later.
I think we were right and courageous to go into Iraq, that the Isaelis were right to do what they are doing, and we cannot get out of our responsibilities no matter our Al Gores, John Kerry's and Howard Deans they throw at us.

Kingmi - what do grownups do?
this infuriates me because you imply that those who are opposed to the war have NO basis for their opinion. what grownups WOULD HAVE DONE is NOT attacked Iraq to begin with. Grownups were saying this loud and clear BEFORE the invasion and were dismissed with the same arrogant air of your post that only "serious" people can come up with a solution to the quagmire our country finds ourselves in now. You complain the the opposition chants "withdraw, withdraw" without thinking of what MIGHT happen if we do, but you blindly follow "stay the course" despite what IS happening.
