They are very involved with relief efforts, they want this to end.
The UAE were the first ones to send convoys with relief goods to Lebannon and they just raised 65million for additional relief goods and efforts.

Wow, Dubai sounds incredible.
Maybe they could get a little more involved in the peace process over there. Nuclear fallout will ruin the tourist industry.

I saw a report about this on a business program recently. I know people who have been involved in various leisure developments in that neck of the woods. I also know someone who works a lot in Bahrain. I think it's a very simplistic view that business should divert investment to troubled neighboring regions - I can't imagine that being the case if say war broke out in Canada. Would that stop US business? Don't think so.
BTW. thanks for the heads up on that track. I bought it online - allowed myself a tiny treat

Dubai just held a telethon yesterday and raised 65 billion dollars for the relief efforts for Lebannon.
The UAE were the first ones to send a convoy of 26 Red Crescent Vans of releif goods to Lebannon which by the way, they were attacked on their first attempt by Israel, but made it on the second.
Believe me, I could go on, but unfortunately fighting terrorist is not an easy task as you can see.
There are a lot of good things that the UAE does not just in the Middle East but Africa too.

BlondeAmbition, Don't mean to rain on their parade, but why don't they
spend some of that money to help establish a state for their Arab brothers and sisters. If the Middle East explodes no one will feel free to go, and might not even have the money to go because of high gas prices. I just don't understand why the rich Arab countries don't take better care for their cousins!

That's all I can say. I have an online business and one time I got an email invitation to set up a display at someone's gem and jewelry show in Dubai. I decided my inventory was too humble for such a setting. However, a potential customer emailed me once and asked if I had a storefront in her part of the world. Do you think I could really swap links with that site? Again....wow.
