Beautiful!
Let us not forget the gifts which depression brings. The ultimate cause of depression: Separation from God within and among each of us.

astraldreamer, We use the process. Denial, anger, acceptance.
And the process is to make yourself feel the sadnes and the anger as long as posible. Repeat as needed. Lol

What if you don't know what you are grieving for?
And what if what you are grieving for is lost time, or opportunitites? How do you grieve for them?

Bell Keeper, I know, that's the line my brother keeps referring to as the
most filled with meaning. It's only a pun. Where the rest of the family are out in the alley looking for food and he's in the kitchen with the Tombstone Blues Again! LOL

Bell keeper, I was arguing to my brother that Tombstone Blues was about
poverty. He disagreed, and we never did resolve it.

Some lyrics, aren't they?!
I used to be so anti Dylan until I heard "Tombstone Blues"
From that moment on, I considered him a genius

Bell Keeper, That verse continues with something like
Her comes Romeo, You don't belong here I believe
He says you belong to me, but another says to hijm
I think you better leave,
And the only sound after the ambulances go...

BlackPearl, yes, grief is scary, but so much better than the alternative.
Det. Gorin is our favorite character on TV. I wonder what he's doing since he was replaced? We should start a fan club.

By the way,
I've never heard of this Dylan song, but I love Criminal Intent. The Vincent Dinofrio character, Det. Gorin ,(I think) is great. Thanks. :)

Excellent post, kingmi,
I vaguely, if at all remember the Robin Williams movie you're talking about, but I get your point completely. Too often we deny ourselves the opportunity/permission to hurt. That's very unhealthy, I think. But I guess some people fear that they may not come out on the other side. Pain and grief can be scary, too. Thanks. :)

written a great piece, that is! Avoidance is the easy way, but no one comes out of a depression without having worked at it. Thanks for sharing.
