Well, I'm kind of thinking...

it's not about the reporters.......they're doing it  for the one big break.......willing to risk all for the "Me".  Whereas, the soldiers are doing it for the "Us"......see my point?

Does the reporter help the terrorist find a US position so they can get a good picture?  "No Amel, that's the wrong building...the shots were coming from over there!"  Where does the reporter cross over the line?  Where does the newspaper cross over the line?

The reporters/photographers are expecting them to. If they tried to fit in with everyone's feelings nothing in the world would get coverage.

Azur

I can understand what you say........

But it's hard for families of US troops to feel much for reporter.....

OK so shoot me now
I think the photographer was brave to be in a place where she  risked being shot at by American who, after all, have far greater might.
Such pictures and stories do not change our loyalties or pose a threat that wasn't already there but they inform.  Newspapers run photos and stories from enemy territories every day.  Of course it is shocking and unpalatable when you think where he is pointing that gun but sadly it is an everyday reality and not showing this or other  photos won't change that.

YPunday
So you're choosing to comment on a comment and not on the photo?  I am not responsible for the comments of others.....what do you think of the methods used to get the photo?

When geniuses call NYT a Weapon of MD, i know this kinda racism
I grew up in South Africa under neo-Nazi apartheid. Just as we know about the holocaust and it disgusts and horrifies us, so too should lynchings and racism. "US" versus "THEM" and many non-journalists want to tell the NEWSPAPERS how to do their jobs. And these geniuses are spending their time on a planet called Blogit. But I can sense how you are disappointed...trying to understand. Children of Arabs have the same red blood and internal organs like our children do. Show your humanity, if all is not taken by Satan.

I'm speechless.
To see the look of intense concentration on that man's face and to realize he is so focused with the sole intent of "picking off" a US soldier.  And then to realize this was published in the NYT and lauded by one of their editors.  I say we boot them out and send them all packing to Iraq.

The New York Times is a much bigger WMD than anything
else on the planet. How un-American can a newspaper be? This picture just sums it all up.

Corbin,
I can see an American mother who is mourning her son wondering if this 'courageous Mahdi fighter' is his killer...

You are far from over reacting! The NY Times is a rag that has out lived it's time. I  don't know many who give it that much creditably, but there is always the odd ball. She calls them brave...yeah right while they hide behind a wall and shoot on US troops. No wonder people are screwed up. I say we organize a campaign and make the Times our offices S**t paper ( it is anyway)
