Home is where the heart is...
and thanks to you all for your kind comments. So far it has been a delight.  All I need to figure out is what to do when I get back to life-as-I-don't-recognise-it.

I share the same sentiments as you about people finding me when I really
need them.

I agree with muser, once you've left home, going back is never the same.
That doesn't make going home any less exciting though.  Have a wonderful trip.

I had to get a prescription for my son before he made his flight
It was late in the day and after seeing the doctor we went to the pharmacy and were told that they had none of the medication in stock.   So the pharmacist called to another place and had someone drive across town to bring the medication at once.

It is comforting, mneme, in a world that seems to be more impersonal with
each passing day to find a person, a stranger no less, who cares! I am somewhat superstitious, and this account sounds like a good omen for your trip. I know you must be excited about going home, but I just hope you'll think about Thomas Wolfe's "Look Homeward Angel" and remember that we can never truly go home again... Please don't think me negative...it's just that this is such a trying time for you, and I am hoping you won't be disappointed after being away for so long that home may not be recognizable...what you've longed for all this time...

Godspeed...I'll be thinking of you.
