Justi, I don't believe that it happens more than not.
It is too easy to generalize about these places.  and therefore to whip up even more fear. Fear spreads faster than facts because it requires no research or verification.  I think that you have locked onto a notion that has been  perpetuated to feed the fear and justify some beliefs.

People are so  afraid that they believe even the simple things such as children kicking a ball are lost.  That is fear talking not reality.  Kids will kick balls and the World Cup will be watched in those troubled places.  The unrest and politics are rotten in a handful of Middle Eastern countries and yet people far away would sum that up as the Middle East and all moslems as evil and agressive.

How many young American men  give up sports forever and settle down with a beer in front of the TV? Where do they put their agression?

I must draw in lines. You don't find the suicide bombers from turkey either. I have taken too large a territory . Have you seen  this innocence you are talking about in Palestine, Iran, Lebanon  or Iraq before and after the war? Have you seen children  having been taught to use arms, seen even women  used  as suicide bombers? Can you tell me this does not happen  more than not?

Justi, I have not yet been to Iraq or Israel.
I have visited only one country in the Middle East  -  Turkey but made 10 visits  I have seen football and other sports being played. watched and promoted.  I've seen children play on dusty school pitches and on the most recent three or four visits my young son played in football games against local Turks on an astroturf pitch. It was very hot and so they played the matches on a half-size astroturf pitch at midnight with about a million insects flying under the lights.

Yes I know that. I am talking about the average school child isn't privy to this sort of playing. Also have you visited the  Middle East? Do you see promotions of the athletes? Do you see posters of the faces of children who have died  by  having been given  to  become a  bomber?  Then  too maybe you remember the last  Olympic games in Germany when all the Jewish athletes were killed by teorrists from Middle East? Or are you trying to tell me it is simply Ozzie and Harriet with different names.

Justi, the world cup players are athletes like from anywhere else
Kids  play football everywhere in the world,  be it on a pitch on in a league or with makeshift goal posts and anything that resembles a ball.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I did know that. These are state controled  groupes are they not not children at random schools  simply playing can you tell  me whether this is true?

Justi, look at the World Cup Football (soccer) draw - Iran, Saudi Arabia
have  both qualified to play in the finals in Germany.  Iraq made some progress in the qualifiers. You will find kids kicking balls everywhere in the world.

That is precisley the point they do not want them to get rid of  their aggressions.

I had a truce with Justi once -- but this is ridiculous

and all your biased and hypocritical rantings have to be the work of depraved minds!!!!

I normally don't comment on politics.... but in this case I saw a point
to be made.   I think you had a good idea up there in the first paragraph.  Why are there no sports in the Middle East?  This could be part of the problem.  Thousands of young men with nothing to take out their aggression....

Thank you so much for your good words. Yes I believe you know how they work. Yet I know it is a war between two worlds. I am sure of it. I am only saying that I would not be able to discuss this without the  one fact that all this hinges on. There is a real God and a real Satan. My voice of doubt was not meant as a  bad mark of any sort against you. Objectivity  in discussing this can not occur without the presence of a real God.

I'm surprised that you should doubt my objectivity.

Yours is precisely the point that I was making : that it is muderous fanatics who are perverting Islam for their own person and political ends. And slaughtering innocent children in the process

Ariel  I have seen their faces. Look at the  faces of their parents. What has happened there? Why do the mothers offer them up for death? I do not believe you will be objective in a dialog about the differences in the Gods you mention. I respect you and your opinions. I do know the fate that befalls my children. I have already lost two of my three to death! Yet I believe in eternal life. Not one of my children would have lifted a hand to take the lives of others. Islam in and on any level is pro taking the lives of non-believers of Islam. I have been a student of many religions for some time. The God I worship created those tiny innocent faces you speak of and the God of Islam has distorted them into killing machines.

Justi et al

I trust you'll fogive me the liberty of posting this, which I've just posted as a comment in another blog ...

Look at the eager, trusting faces of those beautiful, innocent Muslim children at prayer at the foot of my article on Muslim fundamentalism in the August edition of this magazine.

Look at their faces : and wonder to which god they pray. Do they pray to the just and merciful Allah : or the unjust and merciless god of fundamentalist Islam ; that cruel god of destruction, and slaughter of the innocent?

Look at their faces : and wonder what virulent and unreasoning hatred against your children is being inculcated in their receptive minds.

Look at their faces : and consider that in due time it will be they, or youngsters like them, whose bodies will be shredded by the suicide bombs buckled about them. Look at their faces : and wonder if one day they will visit your town.

Look at their faces : and rage at what is done in the name of Islam. Look at their faces : and dare to call me racist for condemning the evil perversion of Muslim children’s minds.

Look at their faces : and weep for what one day may come to them. Look at their faces : and weep for what one day may come to your children.

I'm afraid Americans are in for some rude awakenings in the next few years.
I hope we're prepared but I know in my heart, we aren't!

Of course you may. We need to get the word out. People are just playing  like all is well except America!

Justi, Can I use this please? You have hit the nail on the head!
If you want to know how bad it is to have mobs of Muslims come into your towns, cities and even homes ask France, Belgium, Holland and soon to be Britain and Canada. Of course the United States is the kingpin of their desired target but we will be able to hold them off until 2008. What happens after that will be totally up to the voting public. Under leftist rule America will be the new Hell Ground of Celebrity Bombers!
