I can understand why some people are afraid to reveal their real names; there's so much identity theft, so many hackers out there.

I use part of my real name because I have a book coming out this summer, and I need to be known.  It's to each their own on the issue.

WWPiMM,
Does anybody ever know who "they" are?

Sophistie,
Yeah, it's really about the money.  It'd be interesting to know just how much that Derby pulls in for Louisville.  Bet it's mind-boggling.

Wiley,
Next time I'll have to be more direct!
The stock study is coming along, slowly but surely.  The problem is time, because I get caught up in blogging, and I'm not devoting as much study time to it as I need.
It is fascinating, though.  I really think God sent me that course to study.  I'm really grateful.

Right on, Whacky
Fortunately, I'm far enough away that I can ignore the Indy 500 completely.

Mademoiselle,
I like "EkaterinaTheGreat" best!  That's downright classy.  Any idea what it means?

Not My Idea of Fun
It is about the money and excitement for those who like it!!  Thanks for commenting in my post.  I agree with you about people wanting approval.

I've never understood the indy 500 either...

it is just cars driving in circles. One gets ahead and no one can ever pass. Good reason to keep the TV turned off!!!

I actually asked that very same question earlier today ...

Most of the names are just so stupid!  Corny jokes, lame puns, etc.

I think I would call my horse either Melancholy, Magnolia, Persephone or EkaterinaTheGreat.

"And they're off!"

Mademoiselle,
I wouldn't mind the Derby so much if it wasn't so overdone.

Where do they get all those silly horse names, anyhow?

Well, I do love a good party ...

However, I'm a (north)east coast girl, and therefore, honestly couldn't care less about the Derby.

Having said that, I'm taking Barbaro (with A.P.Warrior to place, Brother Derek to show).

"And down the stretch they come!"
