Saul_Relative,

Whoaaaaa!! How did I miss this mis-guided rant against Congresswoman McKinney?? You are surely not serious! Are you suggesting that "Race" was not a factor?? What Planet are you on my friend?? Are you from America or Mars??

When did police officers become this respected members of American society in the "Black" community? They may be wonderful humanbeings in White America but they still ravage our communities! When did this officer recognize Rep. McKinney? Did he appologize???? When did the cops in New York realize that Mr. Dialo was unarmed?? How about Rodney King, When they realize he had been subdued??

No Saul_Relative this "asshole" recognized Rep. McKinney, but he saw an opportunity to put her in her place! She was offended and justifiably so! That she caved was a bigger injustice!

I love a good conspiracy theory, kingmi. Nor would it shock me if it were
found to be true.  Connections, connections, connections.  That would be a good name for the next politico-thriller to appear on TV.   "The Connection -- In Washington, Power Is The Drug.  Get your fix this fall on Fox."  Whattaya think?

Saul_relative, I believe she knew of the attack in advance and was poised

to gain financially from the fallout.  Her family has been in business with the Capitol Police for decades.  Her father ...well, you get the picture!

You are correct, WritersBlok. Living in the Atlanta area, I have found
quite a few people who, although they disagree with her recent actions, believe that she's doing a good job for her district overall.  I haven't been here long enough to gauge her works, but the little I've seen so far will have me voting against her in any Democratic runoff (if I was a registered Democrat, which I'm not, so the point is moot).  Her type of cheap theatrics belongs in the 1970's.  We, as a nation, need to get beyond all that.  Way beyond.

Agreed, scoop. By her own comments, you can tell she's too self-serving
and egocentric.

She should resign
but unfortunately, her supporters in the ATL have already come out saying this will not deter them from voting for her again.  Well, maybe she should be part of their city council so she can be closer to her supporters and leave the rest of us alone.

This whole deal blew up in her face
and she should resign but that will not happen.

That is indeed part of it, Corbin. This is the first Democratic political
distraction in quite some time.   The Democrats were on a roll and McKinney upset the momentum.   I believe her ego and her misgauging of the consequences of her actions got the better of her judgment, probably assisted with the help of the NAACP, who will stoop to all levels to be able to yell, "Racist."  You can say that DeLay even left with a little dignity, McKinney's fiasco completely overshadowing his announcement to not seek re-election.

Absolutely, OFFBEATS. No doubt about it.

M.P.O.: She represents Georgia's 4th Congressional District, which
includes nearly all of Dekalb County, a small portion of Gwinnett County, and a sizeable portion of Rockdale County.  These counties are part of the greater Atlanta Metro Area and lie on Atlanta's eastern limits.  Minority heavy, with a huge Asian and Hispanic population.

Actually...
I think they told her to knock it off because it ruined their chance to cash in on Tom Delay's announced retirement..........it wasn't the prime time event they had hoped for..........thanks to Ms McKinney.

Agree 100%.........and you know what went on behind those closed doors..yes she did a great disservice to her peers and many fine people, both black and white!

Yeah, she really should ...

One can only imagine what the county that elected her is like.

I'm disillusioned, empty-breasted.
For what I think, I'd be arrested.
