Why am I not surprised that you were a football player? Somehow that just fits you.

Isn't it amazing how much
a bath and a little pampering can relax you?? I hope you did the candle-thing, too.

It was a given that the mother was going to pass, but when I heard about it instead of feeling sad, I felt so grateful for that family.  They had been together and somehow that just seemed to make it feel OK for Mom to move on.

I jsut gave Carl a lecture today about not being to lax as he gets closer to home.  My heart aches for that family.

I am so glad your friend is coming home, I can't wait for December myself.

I finally remembered my last bath...Carl was home on leave and we were in it together.  Yes, it was a very much needed tonic.

you are lucky and so is he! I'm so glad the son made it home to see Mama one last time. That brought tears to my eyes; having a son myself I can see how she felt. I'm sure she is in a happy place and the entire family will remain in my prayers

what a sweet hubby
You are truly lucky to have him. It's so amazing what a little bubble bath and a good long soak can do, isn't it?

My condolences and congrats...

I'm sorry to hear about the soldier's mother.  It is such a blessing that she spent her final moments with him.

Carl sounds like a great husband...you both help lift the other.  I don't know how you do it, military life I'm not sure I could handle.  I'm a wimp...my honey was gone for 4 days and I was OK, but missed him terribly.

You seem to have an amazing love between you two...it's great to see.

Sounds like he knows just  the trick. I wish we had bath tubs overseas. Wait OMG what am I saying. The showers was horrible enough. Let alone swimming in that yuck.

Your husband is a very smart man, you need to take care of you or you won't be any good for anyone else.

Glad you took care of yourself.  You've been going through a lot lately, and it sounds like it finally caught up with you.  Carl sounds like a sweet, funny, loving man, and he's lucky to have you.

Hi Military Wife.....Hope you take another bath and another one, too....
That Carl is wonderful and I, too, like the many people commenting here, sense a special bond between you. And it's lovely to read about.

MW,

As far as I'm concerned you and Karl are the perfect example of a "couple". The 278th has started returning from Iraq after more than a year. One solider returned giving his family sorrow and not joy. He was killed three weeks ago. He's from Jackson County, Celina Tn. His funeral was yesterday and the whole town shut down. He left behind a baby daughter too young to ever know how wonderful he was. His last contact with his daughter was just days after her birth. He was around 22. On a good note my best friend's step son is also returning in a few days as he is part of the 278th. How I pray that all those I know still in Iraq will return giving us a joyful reunion where we can give them the hugs and kisses they deserve and continue to hug them everyday for the service they have given us. Military

I know you don't want to worry your husband or add to his situation; however, love, do you realize the gift you give him by crying on his shoulder?  Do you realize how good it must've made him feel to be able to comfort you and offer his kind words of wisdom?  The relationship between the two of you is beautiful.  I hope you enjoyed "following his orders," and I hope today is much better and brighter for you.  Take care!

You're lucky to have a man like that. He's a keeper for sure.

MW, that's quite a man you have there.......

Glad he talked you into getting in the bathtub after all these months/years.  If you ever get into the tub again and it feels that good, ready?  Put some water in it! hahaha.

Sorry, I had to do that!  I've had it pulled on me and it always cracked a smile. Seriously, he had a good idea and he's a caring man.  A hot bath is always refreshing - it's like a tonic.  Try not to work yourself to death, although, I know you, too, are a caring, sincere lady and you will.   We all care for you!

Thanks for the update.  You're a sweetie!

You are a very lucky woman, and I know you already knew this.
A man who knows, and cares, enough to tell a woman a hot bath will help is very wise indeed.
