Stevie, how unbelievably frustrating, isn't it?
Really, think about it. If you owned your own corporation, would you chance such poor customer service just to save a few bucks? Hell no. It's crazy. I can't believe so many companies do that. Who the hell can understand them??  I have actually hung up on some of them cause I've had to ask them to repeat themselves over and over. I just say screw it!

I can definitel relate to.....

the having to talk to someone from India thing.  I had to call Dell Computer the other day and who do I get on the phone?  You got it.  And RUDE!!!!!  So I sent them an email complaining that they really need to improve their customer service or their customer service and the company in general (when you don't know where to start, start at the top) will be hearing from this customer in no uncertain terms that they had better do some improving cuz they REALLY DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH ME.

Original, I assume you meant it rather than ot?
I was trying to figure out who "ot" was for a second there! Yeah, it kept me hopping alright! Hopping mad!

No shit Mark! Oh, and sorry, no pics this time.

Remember what happened the last time? I never got paid.

Factor, I wish I could, but I never got one!
Maybe we can download it from the internet somewhere?

JJ, you Silly! It IS a NEW air conditioner for $3000!
I just can't get the bastards to install it on time! I'm melting. I swear!

blackcat, I did get a little sleep!

posted by SpitFire70 on August 20, 2005 at 5:04 PM | link to this | reply

Justsouno, thank you for that great advice!
It seems AGAIN, they can't install it today (this morning around 10) cause it was too big and they need to get the right one from Orlando. Orlando is only 1 1/2 hours drive away! Sooooo, what's the problem? Giddyup! No go. They'll be here tomorrow.

Are you sweaty, too? Damn, take pictures.
This is why whenever some yahoo starts talking about how good it was in the good old days, I say "You want the good old days?  Turn off you air conditioner."  Usually, they get mad and call someone on their cell phone.

Umm, could you forward on that 800 number for
"Life Customer Service?"  Mine came without an instruction booklet and I think it was assembled incorrectly. Thanks!

Spiffy,

In looking at my clock and calculating time difference, you have been up for almost an hour.  Did you get a good night's sleep?  You should have just strapped a brick sandal to each foot and gone into the shallow end of the pool.  With a nice, comfy, inner-tube type floater you could have been in the water lolling the night away.  You might have been a little wrinkly when you got up, but HEY!  That goes away pretty quick.  Of course, at this time of year, with Florida humidity, the pool is probably like a warm bath.

I would give you a whine about my AC and plumbing problems, not to mention bi-lingual shopping strife and parking lot rampages, but ya don't wanna hear that.  You should have gone to work early and slept on the floor in an office, or with the dogs in the AC kennel area.  Whine to your boss.  Maybe he'll let you nap between tasks.

Wowza!!  At three grand you should probably dump your old AC and get it replaced.  Drop that much on the old Hog, and you may well regret it.  At least get a price on one.  It might be slightly higher now, but in the long run it will cost more to keep the old Stink Sprayer.  Besides that, Freon leaks knock big holes in the ionosphere.  That allows undesireable solar radiation to get to MY part of the planet.  It also melts the the polar ice caps, which will eventually cause your living room to flood.  Dangerous shit all round, ya know.

Keep your cool baybuh.  Hot temper = Hot temperature.  It's been swell out our way.  We've been staying under 110 for over a week.  It's always pleasant like that when the humidity shoots up.  Know what?  My AC is condensing most of the humidity out of the air.  I can tell because it's been going down through a wall and flooding the bathroom floor.  Has it been some good times?  Oh yeah!  I love to crawl in the attic to fix AC when the weather is like this.  I can still smell gunsmoke from the Civil War in the fresh air of my attic.

The biggest problem around here is that my swearing has begun to curl the paint in the house.  Ever had that happen?   JJ <----[[ That green should hep cool you azz.

Spitfire I am so sorry this is happening to you. If they are not coming
out until Monday, get some peppermint oil and put a little in your body wash. It will cool the body down way down. Take really cool showers and stay in front of those fans. That is horrible.

HolyG, exactly! This morning, I decided to take off all my clothes and
lay on my bed in front of the fan. Stonci decided my boob looked comfortable like a perfect pillow, so she rested her big ol' head on it. I let her do it only cause I was grateful enough that she didn't try to lay completely on top of me! (She's been known to do that!) 110 lbs on a hot, naked body in blistering heat sure ain't my vision of comfort!!

blackcat, I would, but I gotta get up for work at 6am!
Blach! But, hopefully, when I arrive home around 6pm, it will be nice and cool! Bliss!!!

Spitfire
I totally agree.  You can bundle up all you want, but you can only take off so much.

Ugh... there's nothing worse than no A/C in the heat! I feel for you!
Maybe you should get out of there... go hit a bar?  midnight movie?  Denny's?  or better yet... camp out at Walmart!   I wouldn't be able to sleep in that heat.... sorry that sucks!

HolyG, I'm trying to stay cool! But I must admit,
I'd rather have my heater brake (I've had that happen when living back in Chicago in the middle of winter) than my air conditioning blow in the hottest month in Florida. Gawd!! It's sucks soooo bad!! It's easier to put clothing on when cold than having nothing left to take off in the heat! (Yup, me be nekkid right now!!)

Trying REALLY hard!

Yuck.  I love it when my crappy old unit goes out when it's 100 degrees outside. Welcome to life on the couch, under the ceiling fan, in your undies, eating popsicles.  At least I have the luxury of just calling the AC guy and having my landlord pay.  $3000 isn't exactly chump change, credit or no. My heater also went out two nights before Xmas when it was 18 to 20 degrees outside.  It's not as bad as the AC going out, but I'm not crazy about wearing a wool hat to bed....I hope things get better. Try to stay cool!
