Cass,
Yep. That's called selective memory. I have that too!

Well, Taps,
I guess it's a good thing I live close to work!

Temple,
I know you've heard me say I don't remember a lot; truth is, I really don't. It's frustrating for all parties involved, I'm sure.

I have the same memory problem. I tell myself that I only remember the things I'm really interested in.

Spitfire, the important thing is that you remember the way home and don't get lost.

Yes, this is a big problem when we talk...
because then neither one of us remembers and we don't have anyone else to help!  Uh...wait.. did we say, what did we decide?   No no, it was....fuck it.  I know how frustrating it is, and people don't believe you all the time.  My cognative therapist said I just can't get lazy and say, "I don't remember," all the time because the more I do it, the more I will stop remembering.  Can you imagine how lost we would get ALL the time...oh dear.

JJ,
The losing things at your desk without leaving the chair is cause of the demon faries. I've already explained that to ya. No need to move to the mountains, K?

spiff,
I was going to say that ''my conscious and my subconcious are at war with one another.''
I guess I forgot to put in some of the words.  I'm quitting now.    JJ

Spiff,

Have you decided yet that you do things to drive yourself crazy?  I can be sitting at my messy desk and I put something down.  The next thing I do is want it again, but I can't find it.  I haven't even left the chair!  When I finally find the thing it's in some totally ridiculous place that I can't even guess why I put it there.  I decided some time back that my subconcious and my concious with each other.  All of this without even having to leave the chair.

I do that with names too.  I can't think of the name of someone famous.  I have resorted to such things as pnemonics to try to remember the name, but then I forget the pnemonic.

Lack of sleep makes a lot of that happen.  Worrying about it happening does too.  In Arizona we have been going through record heat fot about ten days.  That just makes me nuttier.

Don't worry about it.  You'll only forget more.

I'm going to bed before I forget what I'm supposed to be doing.
Maybe I already have.      JJ

OMFG!! I have done that exact same thing, wanting to track the miles between home and my gym...it's approx. 4 miles but by the time I arrive I have already forgotten!!

SF, I think your wasp should have no trouble finding home if it's only seven or eight minutes.  And BTW, insignificant information like this would elude anyone under the stress related to driving.  Now, about your hubby.  I think he is pretending all these memories happened in order to drive you crazy.  Then he's going to have you committed and steal your fortune.  Or the '85 Trans Am.  LOL
