What most people don't stop
and take the time to think about, is that higher oil price do not only affect us at the gas pump. Most every thing in our economy is reliant on oil products. This means that as the prices of oil and fuel go up so do the prices of other goods. The prices of diesel for the trucks and trains that transport the goods around the country is just one example of added costs. Many chemicals used in manufacturing of goods are petroleum based. There are really some simple solutions to the problem, but people are not willing to deal with the sacrafice and inconvience to deal with it. Myself, I keep hoping that gas prices will get so high that no one can afford to no longer drive to work. Maybe it will finally wake people up and also help in the fight against polution.

Figures. I don't think Mr. Bush was paying much attention when he took his classes on economics and politics. RYN: I have, but I don't think I could bear to read it right now. When the first plane hit, I was at the corner of Broadway and 14th.
