kingmi,
I understand what he's saying, but here's my take. 18 out of 100 graduate college "on time" but college is different than high school. Also, I heard on a radio talk show yesterday that some study was done and they concluded that 7 out of 10 4th graders believed that California, Illinois, and Texas were 3 of the 13 colony states. Scary. If you ever watch Jay Leno's "Jay Walking" segment that he does once in a while, it can make ya cringe at how utterly stupid and/or uneducated people really are...and he talks to
adults!

I'd have to take issue with the "on time" part. What's on time? More important is did they learn what they needed to survive in the world. If they can't balance a checkbook, read street signs or fill out an application, I'd have to agree. The biggest crime is giving someone a diploma for attending when they still can't function.

I dont agree with him, you cannot teach students everything in school... you teach them the basics, then they learn some part of the foundation in college and build their own lives with their own experiences... life will teach them and they will learn what they want...
