erinlove, I am too.
She was a cutie. Wow, what a big bushy tail she had, too. I bet she's gonna give Lilly a run for her money in the competition factor.

Thank you, Sass. I don't think I am a saint by any means, though.
I just love animals so much and am so glad when I can make a difference for them. I'm also grateful when people randomly call an animal hospital about a squirrel and it happens to be mine. So many hospitals won't deal with any type of wildlife. Many would just euthanize them.

erinlove, it probably is the same squirrel you saved.
That squirrel was damn lucky you
saw it fall into the pool. These people didn't know how long this one was treading water. Poor thing was still "treading water" when they got her to me.

A rewarding job? Well, often yes, auntyholly.
Unfortunately, not always; but I see it as having a healthy balance.

Woman, you are a saint!
These are the storie's that I live for. I am an animal lover and I'm not sure that I would have known what to do. I'm glad that she made it out of her pool horror. Congrats!

Isn't that such a great feeling! I love to be able to save another life.
I had the exact experience with a squirrel in my swimming pool last year. Except I was a lot quicker than this family was. I saw the squirrel run and fall in the pool, so I immediately got my pool scoop and saved it. It shook itself off, looked at me and ran off. I think it still comes to the back yard and eats on occasion. There is only one wild squirrel that will let me hand feed it and I really think it might be the one I saved.
