Here they are..

First a bow to my saviors, Maureen and Derek, who so valiently grabbed me and prevented me from going over bord. And next the beautiful sunset and don´t tell me it wasn´t worth risking a very wet end of the journey. This is the return trip and we were approaching port. Sign in to see full entry.

Continued..

Sorry about the typos, but Turkcell doesn´t like me to stay too long on one single piece of writing. When I start revising, it just cuts off and the entire entry is lost. So, please forgive me and overlook them. Sign in to see full entry.

A few more remarks on heat

I loved nautikos´s rcommnt, saying that he considers 30 C tepid. So do I, so do I. I jsut about start breaking a sweat (I mean perspiration, ha,ha) when the temperature approaches 50 C. Of course everybody else here thinks I´m from another planet which suits me just fine. On the other hand, they... Sign in to see full entry.

Hot, hot,hot in Turkey

The climate is definitely changing. It´s only the end of June, it´s 6 o´clock in the morning and the temperature is already 92° and counting. There will not be a drop of rain until the end of October at the earliest and water will occasionally be cut off. Seasoned Turkey dwellers know to always have... Sign in to see full entry.

Have I got news for you!

A few months ago, I approached one of the few publishers who actually publish short story collections by new authors and sent them 3 sample stories. Then I forgot all about it. Keeping fit in the rosy morning light

Have a look at our marvellous, nearl olympic sized pool which form the centre piec of our complex. Nothing better than doing the first 20 lengths of the day in the rosy morning light. Of course, as I took the pic you can´t see me doing them!! Having said that, there are witnesses to my efforts!... Sign in to see full entry.

For boat fans...

The Turkish coastline along the Aegean Sea where I am is particularly interesting because there are many bays and beaches and hundreds of smaller and bigger islands are rising out of the water like the one you can see here. Isn´t it just beautiful? Two marvellous sailing boasts hove into view whilst... Sign in to see full entry.

Icecream making - Turkish style

There is no end to surprises in this country. Every day I discover something new and it is my pleasure to share these experiences with you. The pictures you are going to see show two guys making icecream the Turkish way. The dough, so to speak is frozen to a rock and stored in a big bucket. The guy... Sign in to see full entry.

Could I have spread the travel bug?

It may be a coincidence or it may be that I didn´t pay that much attention to travel blogs, journals and pictures before I started on my Turkey-reporting enterprise, but it seems to me that recently more and more fellow bloggers take to doing the same. Could I possibly flatter myself of having... Sign in to see full entry.

Travel schedule

I thought I might give you an overview of what my travel plans are to make the most for my 4 months in Turkey. Getting a tan and chilling out by the pool is NOT a priority, exploring the country, its culture and art treasures and getting to know its people by improving my knowledge of the turkish...
