It is not surprising how New York hotdog vendors are being replaced by cupcake vendors when we see more and more cupcake shops opening. We even see the cupcake obsession in Sex and the City when Carrie Bradshaw and her girls visit Magnolia for some rich filling cupcakes. I remember when I went to Manhattan last year, I insisted my friend take me there for delicious overpriced cupcakes. And it seems the whole island agreed with me as well, because the two times I went there was lines outside of... Sign in to see full entry.

Easy Cheese and Black Bean Burritos w/ Mexican Rice For all of you out there who love and crave Mexican food, but worry it's too greasy and fattening, here is the perfect recipe for you! Often times, I have these crazy cravings for Mexican food, but then I remember how fattening and greasy the cheese can be sometimes. And I hate to admit it, but it's the cheese that makes it so good! Since moving to the South, I have learned that Southerners really love their Mexican, and it's probably for the... Sign in to see full entry.

Mistake on my own recipe
The Shrimp and Wild Rice Recipe is a shortcut to one of Paula Deen's much more complicated recipe, and in the few times, I've cooked it, it's been a success. Today, I came home, and found that my husband and his best friend had cleaned the whole house for me! I had been cooking all week, and between my son, and trying to entertain, the house got neglected; particularly, the kitchen. I was just cooking in a messy kitchen! So, as a favor, I decided to make this recipe. Omar, my husband's friend,... Sign in to see full entry.

Tortellini Recipe Shortcut
Since I never have anytime to cook between taking care of my son, and working at home, I have compromised with my husband. My husband is such a traditionalist and requests he comes home to a home cooked meal. For the first two years, he cooked. Then he started his residency, and no longer had the time to cook for me. In that time, I was the queen of frozen dinners, frozen pizzas and boiling spaghetti and pouring in Ragu Sauce. Now, since I have had my son, priorities seem to have changed. I... Not Liking My Friends: Part Two
Almost two years ago, my friend asked me to host a baby shower at my house, I said, " yes, but I might be out of town. if I am in town, you can definitely host it at my house." Just as I had suspected, my husband and I drove up to Virginia for our Spring Break. The day of the baby shower, they were trying to get hold of me, and was not answering my phone. As a result, I was accused of deliberately dodging their phone calls to escape my responsibilities. My friend asked her neighbor across the... Sign in to see full entry.

Not liking my friends
People have always said you can choose who your friends are, but what if, your friendship selection is limited, and you do not like them?! Since moving to Memphis, I have sustained a love/hate relationship with this city. I have tried my best to accept it is a small city, with few or limited activities, and the people I have come to make as friends. The people I have chosen to befriend are not people I would necessarily befriend if I was still living in either the Midwest or Florida, but they... Sign in to see full entry.

Quick Chilli Recipe (I know opinion blog, but nice for woman on run)
If you're anything like me, where your time to cook is quite limited, this is a good recipe. I've come to master many thirty minute meals, Rachel Ray's, however, do not ever seem to take thirty minutes, more like 50 minutes! This one I can gaurentee you is short, quick, and easy. And it's spicy friendly, for someone who either has kids or cannot tolerate spices; INGREDIENTS: 1 pound of ground beef 1 pack of McCormick Chilli seasoning 1 tomato 1 can of black pinto beans 1 14oz can of diced... A bit of Southern Flavor:Shrimp and Wild Rice w/ Cream of Mushroom dressing
For all those who love Paula Deen, but don't agree with the amounts of butter and oil she incorporates in her cooking, here is one of her recipes with half the fat! If you're like my husband who is taking advantage of being here in the South and enjoying all the fatty food it has to offer, you'll love this recipe. I have omitted a few of the ingredients and it still tastes great. It's also perfect for that working gal on the run. Shrimp and Wild Rice w/ Cream of Mushroom dressing (optional)... Jersey Takeover
After posting my previous blog about the Jersey take over, I have since started following three other Jersey based shows, "Jerseylicious", " Jersey Couture," and " The Real Housewives of New Jersey." It seems each major network has to have their own Jersey based show. While none of them compare to the original, " Jersey Shore", they each have their own spunk to them. It's interesting to watch, Kimberly and her sister as their try and work under the rule of their tyrannical mother on "Jersey... Sign in to see full entry.
