This morning, I am going to apply for a job. I am very excited about this opportunity. I am completely qualified, I have excellent references, and I already know the business owners. My clothes are ironed, my resume is printed, my attitude is positive. Today is my day. Sign in to see full entry.

So, yesterday I got the ax. Today I filed for unemployment, and that went fine. I had never applied before and the whole process was straight forward. My benefits should start in about a week. Turns out there is an opening at a local store where I already know the owners. I am going tomorrow to apply. All I have to do is tweak my resume and I should be all set. Welcome to my blog! Today is the first day of my exciting adventures as an unemployeed person. Yesterday I had a job, and at the end of the day, I was informed it was my last day. Surprise, shock, and disbelief were just a few of my immediate responses. I want to let everyone know that it can happen to anyone, at any time. Job security is a myth.
