Lites, Camera, Action!

Outstanding helmet camera footage at the Lites Supercross round in Phoenix gave the viewer unprecedented views that show what a rider goes through. Ryan Villopoto, in only his second race had to go to the Last Chance Qualifier. His win in the LCQ didn’t earn him a very good starting spot on the... Sign in to see full entry.

Supercross Lites airs Saturday (that’s today)

Speedchannel will be the place, 10:00 am, the time. Pacific Zone on Direct TV at least. Will Ryan Villopoto repeat his amazing performance or will one of the veteran riders step up to top the podium? The track in Phoenix featured the ever wicked “split start” where half of the field goes left and... Sign in to see full entry.

A NaPalm racing update.

The motocross racing part of NaPalm racing has been on an extended break. Last spring, Nathan fractured a couple of ribs. During the summer, his part-time job turned into full time and the purchase of property brought about a paradigm shift regarding goals and values. I am sure he will race again... Supercross ballet in Phoenix.

Chad Reed performs semi-pirouette in honor of Ballet On Dirt. Ok, so Chad probably has no idea what Ballet on Dirt is, but he did perform an impromptu ballet move while in the lead at Phoenix. As he came accelerating out of a corner, the rear wheel lost traction and started to swing wide as he... Sign in to see full entry.

Supercross Lights light up the track

Supercross Lights light up the track Andrew Short took home the gold but not before Ryan Villopoto, in his first ever Supercross lead for half the race. The youngster was impressive in this outing, but I would expect that. You see, a couple of years ago, he and his family were pitted next to us at a... Sign in to see full entry.

Tiddlers on TV

The Supercross Lights (formerly the 125 class) will be on Speedchannel today, Saturday January 14, 2006 at 3:00pm Pacific time. If the Premier class (formerly 250 class) is a given between the “big three” then the lights would be it’s antithesis. There are no givens in this field and judging by the... Stewart off to a good start with a bad start.

James Stewart didn’t get the best start at Anaheim. The season opener for the AMA Supercross season looked pretty rough for a lot of riders. Chad Reed found himself in the middle of a “yard sale” in the first turn of his qualifying heat. He got back underway and managed to get up to third place.... Sign in to see full entry.

Supercross TV error correction - repost

CBS will air the Anaheim race at 12:30 eastern time, not Speedchannel as I erroneously reported in my last blog. If you looked at your Direct TV on screen schedule Friday evening, the race was scheduled to air at 12:30 Pacific time as well, which I though was rather odd. I just now checked... The race will air Sunday, Jan 8 @ 12:30 Eastern Time on Speedchannel. If you plan to watch, make sure you check your local... Sign in to see full entry.

Further down the trail.

Now that you’ve got the bike moving, then what? For me it is trail riding. What is it about trail riding that is fun? First, just surviving it. Dirt bike trails are notoriously lacking in sections one would consider “easy”. If one is under the delusion that the trail ride will be accomplished while... Sign in to see full entry.
