Life is Like an Onion
Life is like an onion; you peel off one layer at a time and sometimes you weep. I first heard this concept when teaching junior high. Researchers concluded that children's futures were determined by age two! They put children into two categories; they were going to be roses or onions. The rose kids seemed to do everything right. Even if they got in trouble, they always came out of the situation smelling, uh, like a rose! The onion kids grew up building protective layers against the world. What...
