An Incredible Story That Everyone Should See

I just finished watching "North Country" and I have to say that it is one of the most powerful films I've ever watched! The story is so incredible and it took me to so many depths emotionally, as I think it would any woman who has encountered harassment in the work place and just in general.... Some Movies Should Come With A Warning!

Recently, I rented the movie, The Songcatcher, about a woman college professor back in the late 1800's or early 1900's, I think, who goes to mountain country to collect the songs passed down from the original immigrants from Ireland and Scotland, etc. Now, for some of you, this might not be of... Disney, a big cat and lots of laughs

When I was a kid, some of my favorite movies were the Disney animal films with a real live animal that were narrated. "Charlie, the Lonesome Cougar" was always one of my favorites. It is so funny and, as a cat lover, I always enjoy it. It's full of adventure and real life humor. And, the nice thing... Sign in to see full entry.

Yo Ho, Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life For Me!

Well, not really, but I just saw the third film of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End and loved it! I am glad I didn't see it in the theatre, however, because of the length of it. I want to watch it again now so that I can enjoy it better because I wasn't sure what they were going to do with... Sign in to see full entry.

Book of Secrets Is Wonderful!!

I just got back from seeing National Treasure Book of Secrets and I loved it! I can't wait until it's on DVD and I can own it! I had so much fun and it kept me so involved that I wouldn't even get up to go to the bathroom. It was a different type of film in a way than its predecessor but you could... History and Adventure...A Dream Come True

I have always been an avid history buff as well as a lover of adventure and intrigue and the movie, "National Treasure," was like a dream come true for me. I loved the historical clues woven into the fabric of a great mystery and the thrills of the adventure. I'm watching it again for the umpteenth... Sign in to see full entry.

The Red Violin

I checked this out from the library because it sounded interesting. Interesting doesn't come close to describing it. In the first place, I didn't know that most of the film was in a foreign language. Not one foreign language, either, but at least two, possibly three. I do not usually watch movies... Sign in to see full entry.

March of the Penguins

If you haven't seen this film, it is quite extraordinary. It took the men who filmed it staying in Antartica for a year. Nine months of that time, they were completely cut off from any civilization. I don't want to spoil any of it by telling you any more but if you like animal films and want to see... Sign in to see full entry.

Christmas Is Coming...

And, I've already got the movie bug. I am now working in a library and can check out movies through them and I checked out the 2 DVD set of The Polar Express. Now, keep in mind that I already have this film in my collection but I wanted to see the extras on the second DVD in the collector's edition.... Sign in to see full entry.

Not recommended...

I borrowed a movie from the library today that I thought I would enjoy but it turned out to be a vast disappointment. Usually, I like biographical type films and finding out about unusual people but in the case of the movie, "Iris," about the life of British novelist and philosopher, Iris Murdoch, I...
