Question??

If a person makes a sausage cheese Mcmuffin at home, why doesn't it taste as good as McDonalds? Guess this would be relative, since some of you probably hate McDonalds. I buy the English muffins, I buy the sausage, I buy the cheese. I microwaved and toasted appropriately. It tasted good, but not... Sign in to see full entry.

Found In the Crockpot! To Die For Pot Roast

The Recipe Detective found this herself. You can plug it in most search engines and find this recipe. They are all the same. The advantage here is that you don't have to run a search. We're giving it to you instantly. We tried it last week, and it was terrific. First the original recipe: To Die For... Sign in to see full entry.

Challenge!

Here's a challenge for you. I have an unopened package of cole slaw mix in the fridge. You know, shredded cabbage and carrots, vacuum sealed in plastic. I'd like to find a recipe that uses this mix for something other than cole slaw or slaw-type salad. Like, could it go in the crockpot with other... Sign in to see full entry.

In case you were wondering. . .

The ham turned out very well. It was "partially cooked, bone in," and no weight was given, but the instructions said to cook about 15-20 minutes for each pound. What the hay?? I stuck whole cloves into it, covered it with pineapple slices, then brown sugar, then added the pineapple juice mixed with... Sign in to see full entry.

Baked Ham--Help!!

Suddenly (today is Monday), I'm having the family Easter dinner this coming Sunday. I have in my freezer a large, bone-in uncooked ham. Since we'll be meeting and eating at our neighborhood recreation center (our home is very small), I want to use the Nesco-type electric roaster I share with my... Sign in to see full entry.

Marmite: Is the US in Danger?

I just read a news item about a Marmite commercial leaving some young, British children too scared to watch television. Apparently, the commercial is a parody of the 1950s sci-fi movie, The Blob, and shows a giant brown blob rolling down a street. It has been banned by the Advertising Standards... Spumoni, anyone?

A friend at work is asking for information for her daughter. Studying Italian culture at school, she is required to make a food dish and has chosen spumoni. They found a variation that consists of layers of different flavors of ice cream and sweetened whipped cream. She's looking for tips on... Sign in to see full entry.

What is Pleasoning?

Look closer; I didn't say pleasuring. Here's something those of you who like flavor, but need to reduce sodium, can track down. I don't know if you can find it in other parts of the country, but it is a seasoning product called Pleasoning, and it's worth looking for. It's a little different from... Sign in to see full entry.

Strolling

Somewhere I may have a few old recipes someone might want, but mostly I enjoy reading about other people's creations. Every now and then I remember an old dish or restaurant food, and dive into Google to find it. This is one I couldn't find. The Roy Rogers Restaurant in Oklahoma City, in the 1980s,...
