The summer of '42 was when I discovered the player piano. There was an old maid in our neighborhood. At least I thought she was old. She must have been only thirty or so, but to me she was an old, old maid. I forget why I went to her big old house in the first place, but the magical music drew me...

Today--Steam Heat
The sun is out, showing off as if trying to make up for the fact that thick, heavy cloud cover has kept it hidden from sight for days. With the sun sending forth all of it's mighty heat upon the soggy ground and collected rain puddles, steam heat is rising, making for hot humidity and perspiring...
