Today was my Dad's birthday. He would have turned 82. Mom and I lost him when he was 75, to a medical misdiagnosis. Medical mistakes happen far more frequently than we're led to believe. I got a real education from my Dad's death and the lawsuit that resulted from his untimely death, but that's another blog post. Dad's death was the most traumatic, defining, before-and-after event of my life. I genuinely think it was the moment I became an adult, though I was 37 when it happened. Always before,...
