Maple's Snowflake

Why is it cold in Canada? What does the name imply? Why have I never been in that place? Do they have white waves across their sky? I've seen the northern lights way up north. I've felt the cold of dead winter's chill. I've met the farmers of dairy and cattle. They were so kind, and, I wonder still. Why is it cold where the folks are nice? Are they in ice year round? And when it melts, do they oft entice? Are their sworn duties unbound? If I have never been up maple's way, what does it mean to... Sign in to see full entry.

Sheik

Yesterday, I saw a thing ~ opinion of a prowling King. He made my long dress cute and small ~ He strutted royal through the mall. The sign was foreign ~ Persian sheik. His shirt was purple, stance was sleek. I followed with facetious grin until his eye I caught within ~ I know that eye, that roaring heart. I passed and saw what gripped this start ~ Bare chested man upon the wall said, "I'm so hot, and your mind's tall." Sign in to see full entry.

Daughter of Juliana McLachlan and David Gardiner, descendant of prominent and wealthy New York families, Julia was trained from earliest childhood for a life in society; she made her debut at 15. A European tour with her family gave her new glimpses of social splendors. Late in 1842 the Gardiners went to... Sign in to see full entry.

Royal

There once was a Royal Princess made Queen who could do what ever she wanted to do. And being a Royal Princess made Queen, this was absolute~ley true. So she took her device for accomplishing nice, and she made her a way for accomplishing day, and with ignorance clear~ley now out of her way, she was fast at a snail's pace and warmer than ice. Now the Princess made Queen who was Royal~ley seen was concerned for her many friends' woes. Though the timing was right, day was still dark as night, as... Sign in to see full entry.

"Dear Ken,"

Dear Ken, I must apologize. I've never gazed into your eyes. I've never said that "I love you," and where you are, I have no clue. Dear Ken, I know you aren't a toy. You really were a very cute boy. And if you get this message true, dear Ken, I always did forgive you. Love, Jennifer Sign in to see full entry.

Animal abusers separate animals from their natural family.

An animal abuser is usually a thoughtless, mindless individual who has no concern nor consideration for the actual well-being of a living creature they call their "pet." An animal is born, as are we, into a natural family and speaks the language of its natural family. The animal has social ties, emotional attachments, friendships and physical needs met within its own family and later, within its own species. A human can never begin to fill these needs. To isolate an innocent animal for life is... Sign in to see full entry.

Two Thousand Years For two thousand years, she pouted away. Her master had gone his own risen, royal way. For two thousand years, she honored his name. Her master was greater than all just the same. For two thousand years, she loved the unseen. For two thousand years, he couldn't be mean. For two thousand years, she did it for love, and love still rewards, the heart of this gentle dove. Cold in the winter, love provides food, reigns through the famine, rains despite mood. Finally, angry, she... Sign in to see full entry.
