Her Name Is Autumn (sonnet)

Her Name Is Autumn Way up in the trees the crows are cawing, And down to the ground the leaves are falling, My Autumn didn’t stay here very long. The mountains and the hills were all ablaze, My eyes and my heart they were so amazed, And now my Autumn sings her farewell song. If every month could be Autumn season, If she could stay all twelve months of the year, Why, then there would be hardly a reason For anyone to ever shed a tear.
