The War

The War It has now been 43 years Since I left that war, wow Never thought much about it At least not, up till now I thought of myself as a missionary More than a soldier of war Oh, how I loved the little children So sweet and so very poor I wonder if any I befriended Are still alive today I wonder if any remember me If they talked of me what did they say I remember their smiley faces Tho their tummys were empty as could be I remember giving them my c-rations It seemed they deserved them more...
