Shades of Green

I long for shades of green The brown of summer has brought me down Only winter waters the grass. All other forms are artificial. The green of Ireland comes through wet rain upon rain. Where is the sun? Brown and sun Or green and rain Those are the choices. march comes in like a LION It roars with... Sign in to see full entry.

Speaking

I hear you speaking but I don't understand You say that you love me but leave me all alone. I hear you speaking but I don't understand You say that you need me but never call when you have a problem. I hear you speaking but I don't understand You say that I am special but spent all of your money on... Sign in to see full entry.

The Cool Winter Breeze

The cool winter breeze never gets so cold that plants wilt. It just disappoints my northern heart that wants warm tropical breezes and cloudless days. I long for the soft humid warm nights of the tropical ocean. But I am 200 miles north. This is Mazatlan not Puerto Vallarta. The grounds of my prison... Sign in to see full entry.

But they see only another hurting human being. We are so afraid of the world and each other. Reality a painful shock and the... Sign in to see full entry.

Too wonderful

Your works are too wonderful for me. I see the stars in the vast sky, Too numerous to count. I look out on the ocean which goes out with a stripe of deep blue. I walk through the canopy of trees which cathedrals only imitate, and I wonder. What sort of God creates such things. Then my wife gives... Sign in to see full entry.

Green grass

is such a luxury in a drought. Hot sun and no rain make brown grass. Necessities are vegetable gardens. Tended with care. An eye open for mature vegetables. So much time is spent on cultivating grass. So little on grown vegetables. I feel bloated and empty at the same time. Look good on the outside... Sign in to see full entry.
