Tis' the Season
Usually said about Christmas, a little early for that. But very late when refering to snow, it is the season for snow, specifically, snow on Mt. Fuji... there was none up until three days ago. As you can see, she, he, it, is bare. (In Japanese, mountains have no gender, so refer to her as you wish)...

Searching
We are all searching for something..., our E is in search of a school, one for next year, she is graduating in March. We've been to two open campuses. This was Atami two weeks ago, where we visited the International Pet Academy. Atami is a seaside resort town on the way to Tokyo from here. This is...

09/09/09
That's the date today! I am no numerologist or anything, and I am usually the one saying, 'so what?'... but isn't that kinda cool? I found this about it on MSN. Modern numerologists - who operate outside the realm of real science - believe that mystical significance or vibrations can be assigned to...

Shoes!
For lack of anything better to blog... Aren't these cute? They were only 1980 yen!! Move a decimal point over two spaces, and you have it, roughly, in US dollars. I didn't tell anyone, ahem, hubby, that I bought them as, well, he thinks I did enough shopping on my trip and even at that smashing...

Anniversary Special
We walked accross that bridge, intending to go to an izakaya, a Japanese pub-like place which Hubby knew of. On a whim, we decided to go out for our 21st wedding anniversary last night. The actual date was last Saturday, but Hubby had his soccer match then, so we put it off. With Hubby working all...

Starting out in sunny San Diego: These two were our first day in San Diego. This was the last day at the beach, of five days in San...

Noodles That Travel
This is soumen, boiled wheat noodles, eaten cold, by running cold water over them, dipped in a sauce before bringing to the mouth. They are summer food, guaranteed to be cold because they are sent down a bamboo chute in cold water. This process is called soumen nagashi, or flowing soumen. The noddle...

Rainbow, of rainy season as animals lounge.
I dreamed about Blogit last night. Took it as a sign to get something up here as soon as possible! So here are my rainy season photos. Taken from the veranda as usual. School is finally out for the summer here! My plans are to go away! With J, no one else can go but him, so we are visiting my sister...

Thank you for blooming!
That is what I said to this flower as I watered it this morning. This is only the second time in six years that this flower has bloomed. Looks like there are three other buds! Actually it flowers green usually so that it is difficult to tell leaf from flower. As I rushed around getting ready for...

The last day of spring vacation I went to lunch with a friend. Afterwards we went to this quaint coffee shop with a gorgeous garden. No words here, just enjoy the pics!
