The reason the 49ers took Alex Smith over Aaron Rodgers was Smith was the better package. Aaron Rodgers was lucky enough to fall all the way down to the very strong Packers. That's why he has won in Green Bay. He's a "good" quarterback in the perfect situation. He does his medium-grade magic behind an offensive line that walks on water and is allowed to hold at the same time. All the Packers needed was an efficient QB.
